Frasier - Any Fans?

One of my FAVE 90s sitcoms.

I LOVE Niles love lol his subtle sense of humor is what really attracted me to the show to begin with.

My ONLY issue with it though, is how the writers made Roz to be this REALLY cool chic in the beginning but later made her into this annoying needy self-degrading hag, I've always thought her character got the raw deal.

I always liked the Dad's character. Frasier was my fave of the NBC shows back in the day.

I LOVE Frasier. I've always loved the competitive, pretentious banter between him and Niles. Always hilarious. My favorite episode is when Roz is staying with Frasier and the grandparents of her baby come over to meet her. Roz is really nervous but she's curious as to what her baby might look like and they show up with these huge noses falloff falloff falloff falloff I always get a good laugh out of that one. NEVER fails lol

I like Frasier too. I've always liked his arrogant, "I'm a psychiatrist, so I know everything" attitude on the show "Cheers". lol I also loved Eddie the dog, he was sooo cute! He died in 2006, at 16 years of age. He had a good, long life.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Frasier was the best sitcom of its time, I can't even pick a favorite cast member because I loved the whole ensemble.

I hope they start showing reruns again or maybe I'll get the dvds.

I never watched Frasier when it was on a regular schedule.....but once it went into syndication, I finally caught a few episodes. I haven't seen it in a while, but I do remember killing myself at the pot brownie episode. lol

I even love the character that we never seen, the ice queen ex-wife of Niles.
Those writers were BRILLIANT!

I never watched it when it was originally on, but caught the reruns and really liked it. I thought the writing was, for the most part, very clever. Niles and Frasier's highbrow bickering was my favorite. What I didn't like was when Daphne and Niles finally got together. I felt it jumped the shark at that point. In Greek mythology, Daphne is always running away, and doesn't want to be caught. She prays for help and is turned into laurel. Niles shouldn't have "caught her." shrug
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I was never a big fan of the Cheers episodes (unlike most people I know)...and so I subsequently stayed away from Fraiser during the regular airings.

I've been watching the show in it's syndication and think it's one of the funniest shows aired.

I even loved the short lived characters of Mercedes Ruehl(the temporary radio station manager, PERFECT COMIC TIMING), Bebe Glazer(
Frasier's evil agent) and his ex-wife, Lilith.

bebe glazer falloff she was so funny

i've even watched the re-runs of the entire show twice on comedycentral

a very cool show with only very occasionally a so-so episode. most of it
was pure comedy gold. loved all the characters.

as harlepolis said, even the short lived characters were well thought out
and hilarious, 'doctor' Mary, Nanny G or that evil co-host who was telling
everyone they were going to hell for having seks out of wedlock etc.

That show was awesome. The writing was smart, and I can think of few shows with more perfect casting.

I've never watched a single episode of the show that didn't have me in stitches by the end of it.

I LOVE the episode where an old fling of his who has gone on to become a world famous children's author ends up having a wild fling with him again for old times sakes.
I think I snorted a lung out I laughed so hard.

And when Miles talks about trying to convince Meriss (sp?), his wife, to own a couple of dogs, and he said, "She doesn't any pets in the house. She distrusts anything that loves her unconditionally." falloff x forever.

I understand when some voiced their displeasure of writing the Niles & Daphne characters as a couple, finally. It may take away many comic elements. I totally get it.

On the flip side though, it would've been a sad sight to see Daphne as the physical therapist who hasn't left the Crane househould for 10 years and it would've been sadder to see Niles still holding his breath for the same length of years lol

I think the writers put their blood, sweat and this case, laughter into their craft.

When you write stories that centered around a character(for many episodes) and developed strong feelings against/sometimes for her, when she hasn't even made a SINGLE appearance in a show that spanned for over 10 years, you know somebody did their damn job lol

I wasn't even a fan of the show when it used to air. I guess like most posters here.

Yeah I agree, plus it was cool seeing Niles trying to deal with having his dream come true. I think they did a really good job at that whole story arch because although it lost some of the comedic elements it was never boring. It was much better than the Rachel/Ross mess that was the Friends finale lol

I love Friends, but one MAIN REASON why I prefer Frasier is when Kelsey Grammer fought with NBC over the ratings and how they should go for the same "Friends" approach(Ya know? Light humor).

He said absloutly not, he'll not "talk down" to his audience. I'll always admire him for that, it would've been easier to take NBC's option and it might've gave them higher ratings I'm sure, but thats one of its main qualities, you take it away, you have nothing.

I wish more US sitcoms handled the same approach instead of the usual simple minded spur of the moment crack lines.

^^^
I didn't know NBC wanted a different approach that would have been awful if Grammer caved and went with it. I think most people liked Frasier because it wasn't just light humour, it felt a bit more grown up, take that away and it fades into all the other generic comedies. I liked Friends but I haven't missed it since it's been off air because of all the re-runs, I think it's on about 4 times a day here!
