Why does everyone seem 2 be ignoring Artest's contributions last night?

Kobe was channeling his impression of Allen Iverson last night.

6-26 from the field. Jordan my arse..............

Kobe has 5 rings. To his fans, that's all that matters. I'm

no fan of the guy but he is certainly one of the best of all time.

If you did a top 50 of all time now, he would definitely be on that list.

4 sho. Top 5 shooting guards of all-time.

Kobe gets doubled and tripled to open up opportunities for Gasol.

You think John Paxson would be scoring 21 points in games if MJ

wasn't being doubled and tripled. Gasol was just as awol in the

first half without being harassed the way Kobe was.

I'm talking about 4 the series. I hate when they give the guy with the best stats the award automatically.

I hear you. biggrin

Truthfully the game was a snooze until late the 6 and a half minute mark

of the game. Both teams were awful in the first half.

LAKERS: THE REVENGE

cool cool cool

but, now I guess Kobe will be jealous of Gasol, remember my words folks... confused rolleyes lol

[Edited 6/18/10 9:30am]

As he gets older and his skills decline that could happen. I doubt he'll accept taking a secondary role very well.

Kobe is easily a top 20 of all time, but he has a ways to go before he can crack my top 10. These are the NBA Immortals.

1) Wilt Chamberlain

2) Oscar Robertson

3) Michael Jordan

4) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

5) Bill Russell

6) Magic Johnson

7) Larry Bird

8) Jerry West

9) Elgin Baylor

10) John Havlicek

rolleyes Yeah, I guess that 5 rings (despite O'Neal's and Gasol's help) doesn't mean that one deserve to be, at least, in your top10 list...

BULLSHIT.

Any great player of the late-80s, the 90s or the 00s is like 100 times than a 60s or 70s player, including to almighty Chamberlain, get over it already, damn...that means that your list lacks Pippen, Bryant, Duncan and even Stockton or O'Neal...

BULLSHIT

You embarrass yourself with statements like that. I posted your comment at a serious basketball site I go to, and these were the only clean responses...

"bill russell was one of the smartest big men ever to think he could not play today is just stupid. also what people seem to forget is today the league is set up to help the offensive players where in the past the rules were made to limit the offense. what set of rules would they play with? what era? if they played with the rules from the 60's or 70's then 99% of the nba would get called for palming the ball every time they touched it"

"any young cat who thinks Wilt, Russell, Oscar, West, Elgin, Havlicek couldn't make the adjustments and play today's game isn't paying attention."

Here's some facts for you...

You know what's scary? The NBA didn't see the best of Dr.J. The shit he did in the ABA days was plain sick! I lived in Uniondale, not far from the Nassau Coliseum, and my dad used to take the family to Nets games. Shit was unreal!

whatever man, whatever; you can take your time machine and go back to your golden 60s and 70s; anyway, you listed Michael Jordan as your Nº3 (no less) and that pretty much sums up everything rolleyes Funny how some OLD people keep telling that "back in my day everything was better", but make no mistake, 20 years from now, people will acknowledge Jordan as the best of all time, and Bryant will be (probably) in the top5, like it or not...

Anyway, I didn't say that Chamberlain isn't one of the greatest (he's my nº2 of all time), but excluding people like Pippen, Stockton, Bryant or Duncan from the top10 of all time just because they are "modern" players is pathetic...sorry...

and perhaps I should say something about you taking a comment and posting it on another site without permission, but since I don't want to ruin this thread, I'll shut my mouth...

Just remember genius, you're the one who called my opinions bullshit on players I actually saw. But instead of agreeing to disagree, you chose to be a smartass. I can play that shit too, kid.

When Kobe's career is done, he'll probably wind up in the top 10. But Pippen, Stockton & Duncan in the same group with Oscar, Kareem, Magic, Larry, West & Havlicek???? GTFO. That pretty much sums up everything. rolleyes nuts

There are many who say Oscar Robertson was as great as Jordan. Do some research on the man.

I know, I never saw him play with the big fro, red white & blue ball. he was already kind of an elder statesman when I saw him play. An elder statesman with a 41" vertical jump

I'm looking forward to the NBA draft. I'm very interested in seeing what

the Sixers do with the 2nd pick. I hope they don't fuck it up like they've

done in years past. 1984 anyone? trading away Moses and the number 1

pick(Brad Daugherty) for broken down shot knees Jeff Ruland and castoffs

Roy Hinson and Cliff Robinson or taking Shawn Bradley in the 90's over

Chris Webber and Penny Hardaway. mad

I have an old Sporting News magazine with Julius and MJ on the front page in 1987.

Doc was retiring that season and it was an article on Julius passing the torch to

Michael. Don't forget Dominique Wilkins had some nasty gravity defying dunks too. lol

True but Nique went toe to toe with him and a lot of other NBA superstars.
