Should they be mandatorily performed on teen males maybe starting at 14 up to 19 so as to curb teen pregnancies? It's a less invasive surgery than tubal ligation and apparently we can't by and large trust teen girls to take birth control pills. Also said pills may increase their risks for breast cancer. Also I'm not sure how successful the rate of pregnancy is upon reversing a tubal ligation. So what say you? Teens tend to have healthy disease free organs. You are supposed to get preggers from sex. If you have diseased organs its harder. A run down vag can't hold a baby. |

I agree. As much as certain people SHOULDN'T have kids....nothing of this sort should EVER be MANDATORY...but choice???...sure...it might be smart, but the reversals aren't 100% SO I wouldn't put all my eggs in THAT basket...so to speak...lol. That damn Octomom shouldn't have anymore kids...but nowhere ANYwhere does it say or should it be mandatory that we take away her right to have more children. Should that damn Duggard(sp?) woman have anymore kids....she's already got like 20...the damn kids r raising the kids....NO she shouldn't. Can anyone or keep her from having more. NO...and no one should be able to make her stop.
I am a HUGE proponet of birth control. Me and Mr. Trojan r tight like tigers! The key word is control. Control implies choice. Once the choice is made FOR someone, THEIR ability to choose is gone.
To FORCE birth control upon someone is terrible and wrong and immoral.
I believe the Chinese do this and it forces families into terrible decisions...from what I've heard. Never actually, fully researched the subject of Chinese child limitations.
Shoot....it's this ONE issue that keeps me from being "Pro castration" of certain sex-offenders. |

Compulsory sterilization?!?!
Are you serious? We did do that once upon a time. It was grotesque.
So, what would you call this procedure? It was once called the "Law for the Prevention of Hereditarily/Genetically Diseased Offspring"......but that was in Nazi Germany.
This is such an ignorant thread.

Why put the onus on the male population???
It take 2 to make a baby.
And why is it up to the schools to teach teens about the birds and the bees??? Darn lazy ass parents.
Because the onus has for far too long been on the female. The schools have pretty much volunteered to teach the kids because either the parents are lazy or the schools don't like what the parents teach.
Plus it's just plain easier for the males. Not much is involved with them to make a baby and not much is involved to keep them from making babies. We would be doing the earth a favor. Population control. The only reason we have so many people is become the males spread so much of their seed - often amongst several females at once. There was a thread in here not long ago about some dude in family court for owing child support on over 2 dozen kids. Some of his women didn't even know he had so many other mates and offspring.
yep....gotta get them boyz and get em young.

Maybe you have issues with men??
Of course I have issues with men. What woman doesn't? I just think the time has come for the brunt of birth control to be on the man's shoulders. Women have been cut up, drugged up, knocked up and criticized for too damn long. Let's let the guys have to be constantly thinking about pregnancy.
In fact.... how about pre-child support? What about setting up an account for a certain percentage of all men's earnings and have it be used for child support for any bratz they may accidentally bring in to the world. That way the female doesn't have to worry about taking the dude to court. Money is already there.
the other org ethical question of the day.
Pre-birth child support. Shall the government (in case the vote on mandatory vasectomy fails) deduct a percentage of a man's earning for any future children he brings into the world?
That's not an ethical question.
How do we know a man is going to sire children?
Because he's engaged in sex does not mean he will father children.
And what about women intentionally getting pregnant to get their hands on that account? I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

I am currently writing a paper about sex education in schools and teen pregnancy. I truly feel that we need more education concerning sex, pregnancy and all the birth control options out there. I also feel that schools should be allowed to hand out condoms. I don't feel it's "telling" the teenager to have sex, I think it's saying be smart!
They do this in NYC and LA and still there is too high a teen pregnancy rate. Clearly sex ed and free condoms are not enough. There's a maturity that lacking...naturally so....their teensand still kids. That's why I say snip that shit. Heck in my state it's mandatory for girls to get the HPV vaccine even though there haven't been enough long term studies on the affects and supposedly the pharmaceutical company behind the vaccine were the ones pushing for it to be required in the schools. Merk I think is the company. Soooo....if we can force that without knowing all the long term side affects, offering a choice or other option to the girl and her parents or worrying about future fertility then why not give the boys a temporary vasectomy?
Or temporarily tie her tubes . . . I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

That will never happen as long as women are the ones who get pregnant.
I would never trust a man to handle the birth control. He could be the most conscientious man in the world - and he still wouldn't care about avoiding pregnancy as much as I. Men just don't think that far ahead. I'm sorry, but they don't.

who know's if these girls are being raped or not. teen pressure to have sex could be considered a form of rape - perhaps psychological. what about statutory rape where the guy is 18 and the girl is say 15/16? It's easy to tell a girl keep your legs closed and I'm sure most would do it if they didn't feel like so much of their value lied between their legs. We could also tell the guys to keep their schlongs in their pants but again....they won't do it. So....if these teen boys are so inclined to freely fuck and walk away then why not prevent their seed from meeting the egg?
Humans are most fertile in their teens and also most irresponsible and immature for parenting so why not nip this in the bud and start with the guys who often procreate more than the females. It won't hurt, if performed correctly it IS often reversible contrary to popular opinion on this thread and we take a load off Mandy. |

Nobody is talking about sterilizing females or sterilizing people based on some false sense of racial or ethnic or genetic inferiority so please leave the default Nazi Germany argument out of this. This is a GD thread not a P&R thread.
Condoms and birth controll pills are not even considered 100% reliable for pregnancy prevention. They only prevent pregnancy in the best case scenarios.

soooooooooooooooo, if forced sterilization is just for males and not for eugenic reasons, then it is acceptable? Who gets to pass that judgement??? The reason it's a default argument is because it is a perfect example of why you can't have forced sterilization.
So, you see? It's kind of the same thing even though not exactly. You can't go around taking peoples freedom, sweetheart. No one gets to pass that judgement.
rubbers and the pill are proven to be at LEAST 90% effective when used properly. That's a far cry away from preventing pregnancy in only the best case scenario IMO.
I bothered posting on it because you asked, remember???
