I buy Louis Rich, and I like the Butterball "Thin & Crispy". At least they have the consistency of bacon when they're cooked. I hate the ones that are leathery... shake

And again I say Jenny-O needs to be stopped! mad

Yes, I agree. There was one particular brand of turkey bacon that came close. I can't find it here in GA. I could only find it at one chain of grocers in Charlotte, NC.

But otherwise, the real thing is ASWESOME. But since I hardly eat it now, too much reall bacon can make me sick.

Neither. Both have way too much salt.

hmm There is no such thing as too much salt.

There is actually. Too much salt is incredibly unhealthy.

With the horribly over processed food available today, you can easily exceed recommended levels of sodium without ever adding salt to anything yourself.

BTW, I don't know if someone already said this and I'm too lazy to go back through 4 pages of bacon commentary, but Turkey Bacon (and mind you, I do enjoy it)....will never ever never be any kind of real bacon.

Never tried turkey bacon, but it sounds good.

It is, you should try it. I like it because it's not as greasy as regular bacon.

That shit is salty and nasty... as hell, they shouldn't do that crap to turkey meat. YUCK!!!

Turkey bacon is gross.

Beef bacon is the best then turkey bacon. No others will do.

yeahthat That's right, chile. I tried beef bacon, and that shit was like chewing shoe leather. I haven't tried turkey bacon, but I guess I'm game. However, when I buy bacon, I buy the big packs Costco has of Oscar Meyer. In my opinion, that's the best brand of pork bacon out there unless I'm missing something better. Oh, and bacon on white bread smeared with peanut butter is right tastey! Yeah, I know, a heart attack in the making, but I only have it once in a blue moon.

You have to cook the beef bacon differently to get the same consistency of the pork bacon.

But I love both. Don't eat it that much though, maybe a handful of times a year.

OK. So how does one cook it? I thought you just toss it into a frying pan like regular bacon.

I put water like a 1/4 cup in the pan then cook it (no oil)... when the water cooks up it fries but it isn't as crispy as pork as it comes out the pan. It toughens as it cools so I don't cook it as "hard".

It still has a crisp to it as it cools but without the rubber effect. lol

What's Sizzlean?

According to the annoying advert from the long ago, it calls it a tasty breakfast strip.

Whatever that is. I was young and my mom would buy it instead of real bacon.

I do not want to know what it was made out of.

shake

I ate that a lot as a kid.... usually with a nutritious glass of homemade Tang and Eggo's. lol

How bout some COLORED BACON!! falloff

Neil Caldwell has come up with something that is pure genius. He has created the color wheel of bacon!

No, this isn’t some graphic design trick (although Neil is a graphic designer). This is real, genuine colored bacon.

In the above photos you can see the pre-cooked and post-cooked bacon. Notice how well the color is retained.

Ever had trouble getting your kids to eat their meat? Well, we can just about guarantee that the kiddies won’t turn down a rainbow of sweet, sweet bacon.

Just how does Neil create this fantastically colored bacon? Well, for the moment he’s keeping the secret under wraps. We’ll keep on the case though and see if we can’t get you a recipe for this colorful concoction.

Hmmm, I wonder if this bacon rainbow would work if you used bacon jerky
