Kool-Aid can still be found in some black household's today, but as far as SunnyD goes, I use to drink it somewhat in middle school, but it was too sweet for me and so I prefered Tropicana over it. I do remember we used to drink Mistic drinks a lot in my household when I was growing up.

Never did like that stuff. Back in Jersey, when I was a kid, there used be this stuff called Tagaboose or something like that. It was a a concentrated syrup that you had to mix with water. It sort of tasted like uncarbonated coke. Then there was Tang. Didn't like that much either. My mom was the queen of punch. She could mix some stuff together and it would be better than any store-bought punch.

It's okay. I still get funny looks when collard greens and watermelon are brought up and I say that I don't like either. Then again, I'm half white...so maybe your Black card IS in danger of being revoked. When we lived in colorado, people would go up to the mountains and pick boxes full and come back to sell them.... OMG!!!!!!!!!!! Thay were like heaven! I canned alot of them cuz they turn so fast and the kids guarded them like fort knox! Theyd take them to sleepovers... I miss canning...

Lol, see that's the reaction I generally get...that and the "But you're black?!" look. The problem with watermelon is there are so many tastier fruits out there to spend my money on. All of which require less work usually. I agree with chocolate in regards to its flavor. And for refreshment on a hot summer day, I'd go with lemonade, iced tea, or even water.

Then you all havent had a fresh picked right off the farm dead of august, sweeter than sweet, so juicy your a total mess, watermelon.... Come to nebraska and Ill fix ya up!

My second favorite would be those big, juicy, sweet bing cherries. Third is good old-fashioned home grown vine ripened tomatoes. LAWDAMERCY!

This was my favorite as a kid. We had Kool-Aid most of the time (it was less expensive), but my mom would buy some of this occasionally for a special treat...

I had the best peaches and strawberries EVER at some farmer's market in Allentown (I think) NJ.
