Al n Tipper Call It Quits.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/01/al-tipper-gore-break-years-marriage/

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage.

According to an e-mailed statement obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the Gores, but declined to comment further.

Al Gore lost the 2000 presidential election to Republican George W. Bush. He has since campaigned worldwide to draw attention to climate change, which in 2007 led to a Nobel Peace Prize and an Oscar for the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth."

Tipper Gore is known for her advocacy on mental health issues. She became interested partly because her mother suffered from depression.

The Gores have four adult children.

Talk about an inconvenient truth. It's too bad. They were a power couple for a while, and well respected. They will be on their own, I'm sure. I hope there is no infidelity, and that perhaps, unfortunately, they just grew apart.

40 years is damn long enough for anybody, yet alone a political power or celebrity couple, to be married.

What scares me is not that they've divorced after 4 decades of what looked like marital bliss....but the fact that the Clintons are still together! eek eek eek

If anybody shoulda bit the bullet it should have been those two.

Meh....Tipper prolly found some new dick. Al never looked like he was packin' much.

Can't stand that woman. She ticked me off with that whole PMRC bullshit in 1985. Wasting taxpayer dollars on Senate hearings for 'indecent' lyrics in music. Please.

There's a very stubborn part of me that wants to say "and just where the fuck do you two think you want to go after 40 years???" confused

I imagine that together they've seen the best of times, they've seen the worst of times; I am still stuck a little bit on the idea that this is they age when couples settle down, happy that the kids are long gone out of the house, and I dunno, in their spare time get a convertible and go joy riding around the country or something neutral
