Because that's the way things are. In this cruel world, the wealth is not equally shared amongst it's citizens. And no, communism is not the answer.
The only way to ensure that everyone is taken care of in this world is when people, out of their sense of good will towards their fellow man, share their wealth. People have to stop being money and power hungry and start caring and loving each other.
