About Boobs....

okay, I started a thread innocently asking Erin changes in her life, and it digressed into a discussion about her boobs. I have some questions...

Is it true that women with bigger busts experience back/shoulder aches more than medium/smaller boobed women?

Why underwire? Doesn't that stuff hurt??

if you have any questions, please submit them here for our expert panel geek

I dont have huge boobs by any means but at one point I was a large D and never had any problems...

Why underwire?... It gives them a nicer shape..

Doesn't that stuff hurt... No, not unless it breaks thru the material and pokes you in the armpit... Otherwise you dont even know its there...

~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~
lol After time the fabric breaks down and the underwire can poke through. That's when it's time to get a new one!
All of my friends with big boobs try to hide them by wearing minimizer bras and they complain about back pain all the time. I would still trade with them shrug
You're asking the wrong girl! wink
They are bras that don't accentuate the curves...I think they flatten them out rather than perk them up.
I'm a decent sized 'D', and I'm also petite, but my boobs don't bother me.
The underwire does perk 'em up a bit and shape 'em and whatnot, but it does bother me like after wearing one all day, that metal gets to be annoying for me, and I just wanna rip that summa bitch OFF and sling it! mad
so, why not wear one without the underwire, if it means comfort?
I have been a D cup most of my life; not gigantic by any means, but it’s no small potatoes either. I had never had back problems until about 6 months ago I had a weird muscle spasm in my upper back. I got another one a few weeks ago. I have no idea if it has anything to do with my boobs. lol It’s painful, but it goes away within a few days and I’ve never had any kind of chronic back pain.
Underwires don’t hurt at all and are basically necessary for women of our stature. I think if your bra is uncomfortable you should buy another bra. I've really never had issues. shrug Unless they poke through, as everyone has said. And then you throw that bra out.
J/K ... I guess I am an average size.
I do not get back aches from them, that is for sure.
Underwires can be uncomfy if they are too rigid or like others have said, if they poke through.
Having a baby did help a little but I would not recommend it just to get bigger boobs.
I have DD's and never had a back issue...
As for underwire, IMO I feel it gives me more support and doesn't hurt at all. biggrin
Bigger boobs equal shoulder and backaches. Yes
Underwire is for support but that's old school...lots of support bras have latex and side panels. Wire was a bad idea because it caused indentations on your chest (just under the boobs) and the wire would eventually shift and come out thus ruining the bra.
of course if you've got fake boobs you've really no need for a bra except for modesty.
I've got big knockers and no back issues because of them...but I do have a large frame with broad shoulders so maybe that helps.
Not to dampen anyone's boob high... smile but does anyone remember that underwire bra/cancer scare a few years back?
http://ezinearticles.com/...;id=513187
Was this disproven?
There has been striking evidence that women who wear restrictive bra's 24hours a day are 125 times more likely to develop breast cancer than women who do not wear bras at all. A woman that wears a bra more than 12 hours a day has a 1 in 7 chance of Breast Cancer; whereas a woman who wears one for less than 12 hours has a 1 out of 152 chance. A woman who rarely wears on has a 1 out of 168 chance.
Tight clothing inhibits the exact functioning of the lymphatic system (an internal network of vessels that flushes wastes and toxins from the body) which can lead to a build up of carcinogenic compounds in the constricted areas.
Other than not wearing a bra, alternative suggestions could be to replace the under-wired bra with a good sports bra (with a thick band around the bottom, but not too tight); the invisible support camisoles or yoga tops or simply removing the wire from your bra's.
I wonder if slouching to hide your boobs is bad for a woman, you need to hold them high for the world to see--it's good for your health!
