The addiction of ebay.... So ive been looking for a cheap digital cam (as a spare) on ebay...& tonight out of the blue i see one i really like with only 20 mins left in the auction.
i see there are 16 other bids or bidders & i think...ok, what the hell. it cant hurt to try. 4 minutes left & the bid goes up...my palms are gettin sweaty, heart is beating faster...there is no way im gonna win.
i bid with 2 minutes left....sorry ..you have been outbid.
i decide to bid once more with 30 seconds left.
You are currently the high bidder!~~~~
I won the frikkin camera!!!~~~!!
afterward my hands were shakin so bad i had to laugh....was this some kind of adrenaline rush?

careful.... something that felt that good has to be bad.

Yes, that rush is addicting. Beware!
I always tell myself I'm going to save on shipping by buying other items from the same seller after I've had that rush.

I've gotten to the point I like BUY NOW or if I can remember I make a bid in the last 10 seconds of the auction. Many instances I can't remember so I've missed out but I take it as, I really didn't need it. Last resort Big Lots store.

There's a business website called auction.com. It has a cool feature. If anyone bids in the last two minutes of the auction, five more minutes get added. That way, no one can beat you at the last second.
Of course, this auction we participated in last week was supposed to end at 2, and went on to almost 4:30 because of the bumps. But it was pretty awesome when we won. At least, it was a relief to finally see the counter get to 0:00 instead of bumping up another 5 minutes!

Does the prices for whatever get crazy? I seen junk on evil Bay go into the thousands.... I know dang well know ones going to pay the price. Sure enough, the "junk" is then re-listed.

You have to be careful not to overbid just to insure you win, because if the seller sees a high bid... don't be surprised if an anonymous "bid by proxy" bumps it up to just under your top bid.

I think that happens a lot. That's why I've learned to wait till the last seconds.... when I can remember to go back in bid.

Auction.com is not available to canada....(thank god)..hehe
If i am bidding on something i ALWAYS have a maximum bid in mind that i will never go over. that way i know i wont regret it, if i lose.

Do you mean onlineauction.com? I Googled auction.com,and it was a online real estate bidding site. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach
