Casino Royale Appreciation Thread this movie ,to me, is the shit!
the intro is kick-ass (kind of a 70's throwback)
the theme song is cool (You Know My Name-Chris Cornell)
the location...the cars.....the clothing.....and of course, the women....everything is a nod to classic bond. the fighting sequences kept my attention. you know i gotta show support to a fellow piscean (Daniel Craig)
and Sebastian Foucon ( i think that's how his last name is spelled?)....i can see why Madonna picked him to be on her "Confessions" tour. he was in the "Jump" dance number i believe.i'll have to watch it again to be sure.
all in all, i really liked this movie. by the way, i'm going to see "The A-Team"
now, if you all will excuse me, i will bid you orgers a good night/morning/afternoon wherever you are as i go back to watching bond.

Casino Royale was the first Bond movie i actually enjoyed. I loved it....most part because of Daniel Craig (the scene on the chair was hot). It's classic James bond, but this time with a kinda rough Bond. And a more human Bond.
great movie. | |

I really enjoyed this movie, too. I thought some parts dragged, especially the 45 mintues or so during which the characters sat around the table playing poker. A lot of people had doubts about Craig portraying Bond before the movie came out, but I think he did a great job. I think some of it had to do with the fact he has light hair and eyes, and Bond before always had dark hair and eyes. I also like Craig playing Bond as a darker, more serious character.

I don't know why the original was so different. They had the rights to use the Bond character, but Ian Fleming must have been spinning in his grave [Edited 6/2/10 7:06am] [Edited 6/2/10 7:11am] [Edited 6/2/10 7:12am]

Yeah I absolutely agree... I love that movie. Daniel Craig is great as Bond. Quantum of Solace is great too but Casino Royale is the bomb.

Yep, GREAT BOND MOVIE. A film that perfectly mixed the best of both the Dalton era and the Brosnan era, while wisely avoiding their worst aspects (so-so plots, and too much reliance on special effects and explosions, respectively).
On top of that, the film had, objectively, the best acting ever seen in a Bond movie. And the whole plot about how international terrorism gets financed was truly inspired. I liked it because it was a perfect update of Fleming's original story...
Overall I think is the fourth best Bond movie of all time, only surpassed by the first three Connery films...
QoS was an odd, if successful and interesting, follow-up to CS...

Great movie.
Any of the Bond films that are true to the original books turn out to be the better ones of the series.

I agree, he's a more realistic James Bond. Not afraid to get his suit dirty at all or some bruises and scrapes. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

exactly, that scene where he's all freaked out after killing someone and then has to go back to a card game was one of the best bond scenes ever. That's what Pierce totally lacked. At least Roger Moore played it for comedy, but Pierce was just boring. Craig adds some drama.
Either way that was probably my favorite bond movie ever. My Legacy
