Great stuff, SCNDLS. smile

My bf and I are heading to the North Shore of Lake Superior this afternoon. He's turning into the best boyfriend ever as he booked us a suite with a deck overlooking the lake and a fireplace and all the good stuff.

We're gonna hike in Superioir National Forest and relax by the pool and enjoy the whirlpool in our room and eat lots of yummy food and I cannot freaking WAIT.

Now, that's cool There's nothing better than being with a man who can take charge and plan lil romantic getaways. Women usually get stuck with planning every vacay. pout

What?! lol You're leaving today?lol Have fun, don't be afraid to eat some mangos, johnny cakes, and patties or I should say "patés", as we call them in the VI, Yum! I had to try and stay away from the heavy food there,.

I had a funny experience. An iguana was in the papaya tree near the window of my Aunt's house. A papaya tree fell from the wind blowing it after it rained, on the glass window panes, and the iguana was on that tree.

When I turned the light on in the bedroom, his ass was attached to the screen, and my mother, sister and cousin started screaming, when I called them in the room to see how silly it looked. I was laughing my ass off. I took a broom and banged on the screen and he finally ran off.

The next morning, the neighbor had a ladder up near the window, with a machete to chop down the papaya tree that got stuck outside my Aunt's window. Then next thing you know, the iguana and a baby iguana, ran down the tree. I took a video of the iguana when he ran up another tree in the back. It was hilarious. For some reason I am not afraid of iguanas, but lawd have mercy if you had seen my sister and cousin screaming you would have laughed your ass off.

Then I had to listen to my brother, sister, cousin tell of their childhood experiences, throughout the whole trip, talking about when they were kids, and stayed with my grandmother. tt was good visiting my parents' native birthplace and hearing all the stories of my family's history and life experiences. I want to visit my grandmother's birthplace (Tortola, BVI) within another year or two, so I could see where she lived when she was alive.

Anyway, have a great and safe, trip and eat, drink and dance your ass off to the Caribbean music while you're there!! biggrin

falloff Gurl, that sounds like my trip to Panama. Why are the bugs, rodents, and lizards super-sized in the tropics??? My aunt stayed in the country with my great-aunt for a week and the mosquitos tore her ass up but didn't touch my 90 year old great aunt. I told her they knew she was fresh meat. But a big ass bug flew up to my apt on the 47th floor. That shit fucked me up. shake

lol @ the bug remark. As a matter of fact, speeking of age, it's amazing how so many people from the Caribbean live well into their mid to late 90s. My grandmother lived to 91, and I have a 90 year-old Uncle and 96 year old Aunt still alive. Funny thing, is even at that age, they look almost 8 to 10 years younger. lol

I'm going to Boston for the weekend in a few weeks. I'm not crazy about Boston, but my mom will be there for business and wants me to come visit. We are going to check out Harvard's Fogg Museum.

The real fun comes the following week when I will be going to St. Barthelemy for six days. I cannot wait to hit the beach! sun

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I'm in London right now and staying with my cousin and his wife. It's great fun but it's also the only real trip I'll be making this summer. In December I'm going to Tanzania though. That'll be exciting. smile
