How do you feel about hot nights? Me?:
Well I love those hot nights when a t-shirt feels right You stay up later when everything's outside I stay up later - why say no? Terrible.
I'd have to keep my front door open to provide a sufficient amount of ventilation in my apartment during the nights in June-July. It's just designed really badly. I wonder how my neighbours who have kids and pets actually manage to pull it off. | |

True story: one 100-degree evening in the summer of 1988, I was sitting on the patio of a local watering hole, having a drink with friends. Suddenly, I just couldn't take wearing a bra for one more second. So I reached under the oversized t-shirt I had on and took the bra off, right at the table, and shoved it in my purse. Not really a fan of hot nights (or days for that matter), unless there is low humidity. And I have a cool, air-conditioned apartment to return to. Our ac broke last week and the new one is not arriving until Thursday. I am melting! But we do have a balcony, which is nice. Last night my friend came over with a bottle of wine and we sat on the balcony, which was awesome; like being outside at a restaurant but without the traffic lumbering by, belching exhaust.
My ideal temp is mid 70s, low humidity, and sun. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. | |
