Yeah, I don't get that either. I mean, a press release to announce a break up/split/divorce/whatever? Really?
Yeah, like it's gonna impact our lives lol.

I am so tired of people talking about celebrities as if they are some kind of seperate species from the rest of us.
It's not just celebrity marriages failing. The entire country has an incredibly high divorce rate. Celebrities, being fallible human beings just like the rest of us, sometimes have marriages end. That's all there is to it. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!" |

Marriages fail every day. Celebrities are no different from the rest of us.

I find celebrity culture interesting from a Sociological viewpoint. How we think and talk about famous people I think speaks a lot about our own self-identities and what we value as a culture. [Edited 6/9/10 1:43am] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!" |

Marriage sucks anyway, and divorces are a bitch, mostly because it favors women more. And after that Tiger Woods incident, it surely convinced me not to marry. People nowadays are shacking up more often anyway and have kids and they seem to be a little more stable than a married couple.

I don't even believe in 'shacking up'. Don't want anyone in my shit. Causes nothing but problems.

Hollywood, LA, NY and soon to be ATL (basically big cities with a strong entertainment base) are not good places for a healthy and thriving celeb marriage - too much temptation and too many people tryna get in your business. You take long lasting couples like Will and Jada, Kevin & Kiera, Jeff Bridges & his wife....they all live outside of the madness. They don't frequent a lot of celeb parties, they aren't constantly featured on TMz or Showbiz Tonight...they live their lives under the radar. It's about not getting caught up on your own hype and what's written about you in the press.
Ice Cube has been married for a long time to the same woman and he's a rapper...you would think rappers wouldn't have strong marriages or be family oriented. He said it best "keep other people out of your marriage/business". That's easy to do when you don't live around people who stay suckling on the fame tit. |

Especially when a lot of states recognize that "common-law" shit. You shack up for a certain number of years and get that person's mail coming to your crib...you might as well be married. Next thing ya know...they takin' your ass to court. |

Fuck Marriage. To men out there, if you're going to marry, you better be careful. Because, if you somehow end up getting a divorce, and kids are involved, you'll be fucked in the ass. |

What are talking about NK?
Are you even remotely experienced with what it means to be married, and how some people actually take it as a solemn oath and covenant to be honored as per their religious or spiritual alignment?
No, fuck marriage for you, young lady |

You do realize that divorce favors women, especially if children are involved, than men right?
But in all seriousness, marriage is becoming a for the last couple of years. No one wants to try to work things out when things turn bad. |

Bull.SHIT.
I lost the shirt off my fucking back in my divorce , and while we didn't have children, I have personal examples of a many a divorcee who, children notwithstanding, got screwed over big time once their marriages became irreparable. Your take on this only accurate in some cases at best and clearly from limited experience and (international) perspective. |

I find it funny and a little hypocritical that so many folks say that they could care less about celebs marriages. Yet the boards are THICK with discussion about Prince's relationships, potential women, and failed marriages etc.
The real deal is that people only care about the relationships of those that they admire and respect.
Trust me, if a reliable source posted an eyewitness account of what is going on in Prince and Bria's relationship....all eyes would be on that thread. Matter of fact the damned forum might explode from excessive trafficking. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |
