Fergie on Oprah

Fergie is sailing down that infamous stream without a paddle "thee - nile" (aka denial). She definitely sounds like a lush. Her speech appeared compromised either by anti-anxiety pills, or alcohol, or both. That lady is a sociopath, betcha she'll be trying to write and cash fake checks next. She says she was trying to get 40k for a friend and not for herself. Please? Appears that she may likely be millions of dollars in debt. Now she's talking about filing bankruptcy. Sheesh.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

Your thread is bait, first off.

Second, you obviously have no real idea, only a "reel" one, of what a "sociopath" is, or how it is defined.

How does one "sound like a lush"? I don't remember her slurring her words, or breaking eye contact with Oprah. She looked her right in the eye and said what she had to say. Your a liar when you say you think she's on anti-anxiety pills or an alcoholic. You have zero medical, or otherwise, evidence

Bankruptcy is a way of protection for people who really need it, but it's not to be taken lightly. In America, some bankruptcy stays on your credit record for 10 years. That's a long time. Life isn't short - it's long, drawn out, and slow. Bankruptcy isn't some gutter trash way out of paying debts. It's a way to get your head above water, and start gulping air instead of drowning to the point of dying. Surely you're grown enough to not wish death on someone, right?

I was anxious and curious to see this interview. I think it was bold, brave, and a little ballsy, of her to come forward only 8 or 9 days after the story broke to talk to a national audience by way of Oprah's show. She's no fool. She knows that Oprah was going to bring out the tape (although she probably hoped it wasn't going to be shown - who would hope to have to watch something like that after living it), and she knew Oprah would ask the hard questions, delve into details, and bring things up that she (Sarah) might not even consider.

Oprah did just that. Oprah has nothing to gain by pandering to Sarah's need to cover things up or lie about them. Oprah has built a career off having folks be real around her and tell her the truth about stuff. If someone lies to her, that's on the person, not Oprah. All that said, Sarah knew what she was doing by calling Oprah to talk to her, opposed to Ellen, or a network.

I don't believe Sarah has gotten a fair shake on things over the years. She's just a woman. People like act, because she's the Duchess of York, that she has some magical life or something. We saw that wasn't true when Charles coldly, and repeatedly, cheated on Diana, and the ensuing mess of a divorce. She's been made fun of for her weight, her hair, and everything else people choose to pick on, as if she's an inanimate object like a tea kettle, or a pillow sham.

I liked the interview. I don't believe any of this is over. But the girl had her say, she spoke openly, and honestly, as best she could. Does she have more to learn from it? Of course she does. I don't think any of us are at the point of saying, "I've learned everything I need to know to function in life." Oprah was right, and I've said this for years as well: When you don't learn the lesson, it keeps coming back until you do. If you fail the test, you're required to keep taking it until you pass it. It kind of harkens further back to the saying by Georges Santayana, who said "those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it".

Ultimately it's no one's place to judge this woman, who is a mother, and raising children on her own (albeit with an active father, hopefully). She didn't steal tax payer money, didn't pull a Ponzi scheme, didn't create some mail order scheme, etc. I wonder how quickly people would shut the fuck up when their own closet is opened and ransacked for the world to see?

Sounds like you got a lot of emotion invested in Fergie and the whole "filing for bankruptcy" thingy. If I thought your post was worth it, I could really rip it to shreds. But really...I have better posts to read...and better posts to write. I have no problem that you feel the way you feel about the interview and about Fergie. But understand...that is YOUR PERCEPTION! Others may not feel the way that you do, or may have zoomed in on different things during the interview than you did. No need to be rude and disrespectful about it when you don't agree with the opinion of others. Save that anger for whoever it really should be aimed at.

Are you angry with Oprah because she said that she saw a spiritually and morally bankrupt person when she watched the video tape? Translation: Fergie is spiritually and morally banrupt, and this was manifested via her actions. Now......you go and look up the definition of a sociopath and use a little "deduction" when you do your research, and then sit with those thoughts.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I don't have anything invested in Sarah Ferguson. You can say you have better posts to read, but the fact is you read ALL of my post, hence your response noting things throughout it.

The difference between the people who want to tear her down, and those who don't is this: The people who don't tear her down understand one thing: She's a human being. Just like the ones pointing the fingers - like yourself.

You're the one who started the anti-Fergie thread. I would argue that you have much more invested in all things anti-Sarah than anyone else has on the other side of the royal fence.

As far as the rest of your post - I read it. It's rubbish.

Tinaz is right: Sarah was simply nervous, anxious and embarrassed. Who wouldn't be? Oh I forgot....YOU, right? rolleyes

Wow....so I posted my perception of what I SAW as far as the Fergie and Oprah interview was concerned, and I get called all sorts of names, and get accused of all sorts of things. So instead of actually "engaging" you I type "waaah'...."waaah" and now I'm a troll huh? I think you need to get a grip on your emotions and re-direct that hate that you are spewing to it's source of origin wink Heck go write Oprah a hate letter, she's the one who said that Fergie appeared "spiritually and morally bankrupt". Geesh @ the babies online.

I will no longer respond to your childlike rants and name calling. I suggest that you just avoid my posts and threads if they upset you so much.

wacky

www.dictionary.com defines lush used as a verb as the following.

Verb (used without proper object): To drink liquor.

So, before you go getting your undies all in a bunch, you should maybe google the definition of the word to just see if perhaps there are multiple definitions before you automatically decide to "default" to your own apparantly limited understanding of the word's broad usage.
