england hassent won a tournament in way to many years so there an oudsider to me.

last 40 years brazil italy germany argentina and france have won. france isnt going to win thise time for sure, so i guess one of these countries. holland realy has a good generation , ivoery coast is done for since drogba broke his arm. i think spain is the only country that can win a world cup as a newbie .

i think brazil is going to win but im rooting for the netherlandss

I read some rumours that fc barcelona is planning a monster bid to get him there
As for me: I'm hoping for argentina to win!

He gotta hamstring tear trying a backheel at score 6-1 against Hungary, they're still taking him despite the prognosis for such injuries usually being 4-6 weeks. Pretty tragic if he doesn't make it.

Senna will play the DM role like he did in the Euros, Busquets is cover I think.

Whoops, Senna didn't make the squad, so it's either Busquets or Alonso as defensive cover. That's knocked their chances down a peg s'pose.

I saw that game..was very stupid to keep Robben in there with that score.

Exciting! I'll be watching Spain, England, Brazil and Argentina. Curious how Portugal will do. I enjoy watching Cristiano Ronaldo. Not bad on the eyes. boxed

What's up with all the injuries on key players!
Drogba broke his arm last week, but it's fixed already (strangely footballers seem to heal quicker than normal people smile)

I can't see him playing with a broken arm LOL. Maybe if he was a runner or something, but a footballer? We might see him in the later stages though (if Ivory Coast get that far that is, and judging by their group, its highly unlikely LOL). Out of the African nations, I think Cameroon will do the best. Like Ivory Coast, South Africa have a tough group. Ghana could surprise and should make it through their group.

Group predictions anyone?

Iam going conservative for the most part. Of course, I want to see upsets (like inparticular in 2002), so who knows what will happen?

Group A:-

South Africa

Mexico

Uruguay (2nd) (they are due. Iam going bold on this one)

France

Group B:-

Argentina (1st)

South Korea (2nd) (squeeze past Nigeria)

Nigeria

Greece

Group C:-

England (2nd) (Iam English and love England, but we tend to struggle against lesser teams, and I think USA have some momentum)

USA (1st)

Slovenia

Algeria

Group D:-

Germany (1st)

Australia

Serbia

Ghana (2nd)

Group E:-

Holland (1st)

Japan

Cameroon (2nd). One of the toughest groups to call (for runner up). All 3 teams have a chance.

Denmark

Group F:-

Italy (1st)

Paraguay (2nd)

Slovakia

New Zealand

Group G:-

Brazil (1st)

North Korea

Ivory Coast

Portugal (2nd) (Ivory Coast could cause an upset).

Group H:-

Spain (1st)

Switzerland

Chile (2nd)

Honduras

People make out that the game between the USA and England is a done deal, but dont forget USA are 14th in the fifa rankings compared to England being 8th.

I think England will lose on Saturday, not that i want them to , it's just that they always start a tournament badly "shit themselves" then inevitably lose out on pens lol....COME ON ENGLAND!!

FOR THOSE UNABLE TO VIEW LIVE GAMES....

This is a great site to view available games free on-line.

No downloading this and that, just click and the game opens in a new tab.

The countdown refers to the games start time....

Wait a few seconds for the stream to buffer then crack open a can and enjoy.... razz

Not to dump turds on my own celebration of the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup victory doody , but while many people in the Windy City are excited about the Blackhawks woot! excited dancing jig , and people in New England are excited about the Boston Celtics, and people on the West Coast are excited about the Los Angeles Lakers, and people in New Orleans are excited about the Saints, and most of the Big Apple were excited about the New York Yankees, and all of Canada canada was beside itself in ecstasy over the Olympic gold medal in hockey, all of those are small potatoes compared to the World Cup. soccer Though more Americans are into soccer (yes, I know it's football everywhere else) than ever before, we don't even have a clue about how huge this event is around the rest of the world. The rest of the world literally shuts down their lives for the next month just to follow the Cup, with many fans conceiving their children after a victorious match tonk while others name their first born children after the biggest stars in the game. Consequently, a number of fans literally become violent and/or suicidal if their team loses in the first round. faint disbelief

Nevertheless, I hope evryone here enjoys the following month of football, and as far as I'm concerned, GO USA!

woot! excited flag typing
