Yep , well done USA for beating the 10 men of the worst team in the group. Just a shame Landon Donner-Van Ruined it with his blubbing, egotistical waffle and desperate attempts to get his wife back.

they did miss a lot of good chances.

Hence the wink

Benfica was big when Santos was big, I dont mind today. This talk that Pele used to score 10 goals per game is bullshit, you clearly does not know what you are talking about. so I wont discuss brazilian soccer with you. Do your work first. Hey Ronaldo cannot clean the shoes of Romario, let alone Pele. Ronaldo is marketing, Romario is the real thing.

It's true actually. Pelé did, sometimes, score 10 or 11 goals a game. It's not bullshit. The other day Tostão wrote a story in Record about Pelé being 10 goals away from becoming Brazil's league best scorer some season. In one match, though, Pelé scored 11 goals thus becoming the season's best goal scorer.

Ronaldo can't be compared to Romário. He (Ronaldo) is superior in most levels but Brazilians seem incapable of judging a player on more factors tha goalscoring rating. Brazilian football in domestic terms is absolutely irrelevant to me and to anyone who knows the European one. Different standards for different demands. Expect zero work to be done.

I am just saiying it happened close to zero times. You talked as it was on a regular basis.

Ronaldo is not better than romario. Romario is better at heading (incredible), is the best finisher, was very quick when young and he had clearly the best ball control. The only thing ronaldo does better than romario is run and kick from long distance. Romario at 35 was brazilian league top scorer (when tevez and robinho was playing here) and ronaldo at 35 on teh same league barely walks on the field, indicating that ronaldo needed his physical to shine. Romario had raw talent and was a true genious, just didnt had nike backing up his carreer. Romario only played ONE world cup, ronaldo played on 3 and fucked up 2 times. Tostao even said that he was the only brazilian player who could play on the 70´s brazilian world cup team.

Brazilian domestic league can be irrelevant to you, at least is not a ridiculous league with just two teams. (real madrid and barcelana) (manchester and chelsea) and tons of ridiculous bad teams. standart teams of brazil are full of future world stars. Why do you think Iniesta, Lampard and Fernando Torres shine so bright on the top leagues of europe and only do shit on world cups? they are not so good as you think, europeans team apart from the big ones are terribly bad, and they play against lazy teams emulating pseudo-greatness. C ya!

You know what...it's just Dempsey, Donovan and the manager that get my NSC up and annoy me.

I mean how can a mediocre footballer like Donovan justify comments like...

"I'VE been through a lot in the last 4 years". "it makes me believe there is good in the world" and that HE epitimised the American people...get over your self you pansy!!!

These aren't things you say about yourself

I think it's very evenly matched...England are an all round good team who can beat anyone when in the mood, Germany on the other hand have a couple of exceptional players but also some real chinks in the armour (lots of them). England looked poor in the group stage (apart from last night) but we all know that wasn't the real England, Germany on the otherhand really did go all out but never looked like a great team. I know a few german fans and they ae far less happy about getting England than we are about getting them. Oh...and come on Ghana!!!

c'mon, england played a poor tournament so far and germany had luck to get through - as always

when it comes to the quarter-finals it's over for each of them - messi will kick their arse razz

Iniesta and Torres are probably better than any Brazilan players. Lucas Leiva won 'player of the season' in Brazil, Tevez scored plenty, Robinho built a reputation as a decent player when he's a useless panhead, all because they were in inferior footballing climes. The 'ridiculous bad teams' would give any Brazilian league side a run for their money.

Fernando torres is a mediocre striker and iniesta only plays good against weak spanish teams. david Villa and xavi are the only real great players in spain. puyol is atrocious and fabregas is a pretender. Believe me, there are tons of braziliar players better than iniesta and torres in brazil and argentina, just wait 3 years and look where the future south americans idols were in 2010. Seville is a shit team and couldnt have a chance against any big brazilian club, or top argentine club. Spanish league is a league of 2 and the rest of the teams are jokes.

Just see grafite on the german league, he was a common player in brazil and now is the king of germany.

I think that this the worst Italy ever. Italy always had a great great great player like Baggio, Piero, Totti.

Iaquinta, Montelivo and Pepe are a pain to watch. I mean France has some great players in bad shape and relation problems so it went out early. Italy only has Di Natale and? This is the worst national team i saw in my life, talking about the always top contenders (germany, italy, argentina, england, france, netherlands, brazil etc).

Oh I'm not saying England will win the cup...but in terms of England bs Germany it's fairly even and PERHAPS Germany have already shown what they have where as we know England have another gear.

As for Messi...he's like Rooney - misfires on the bigger and biggest stages...but Argentina as a whole...they'll be in thebfinal no doubts at all

Good news to put in these pink papers that they got (how gay is that)
Last ten minutes were exiting though. They showed that they are able to play an attacking game but they got punished for their Italian style/defensive/11 people at the back/shitty play that they were doing in the first half and the previous games brick

It's a weird world cup...onn the one hand it's lacking something and those vuvuzaelas are killing the games (although the novelty seems to be wearing off)...but on the other had some smug nations have gone, some tiddlers are going through and, if Prince was there, he'd be going crazy with a conspiracy that there must be something in the water making trams fallout with staff...France, Ghana, England....and where have those North Korean players gone?

right, it's a weird cup - unbelievable - i lost almost all of my bets so far mad

but i predict now: the champion wil speak portuguese or spanish razz

and to compare messi with rooney is like to compare a ferrari with a fucking hummer (wanted to say vw golf....but ok;)

france and italy out is ok, the played just shitty

germany and england will follow cool

and.....sorry for holland - quarter-finals vs. brazil or portugal......ohoh cool

but maybe we can see the dutch revenge for 2006:

I'm not surprised about Italy; as I said some weeks before, they were a bunch of unimpressive (& unknown) young players and many old legends that started their decline right after 2006... Lippi has run out of ideas, that's for sure...

Are these opinions based on what you've seen at this WC? Torres isn't fully fit yet, but in his first season at Liverpool he was the best striker I've seen in England. He's a natural goalscorer with the record to back it up, I'd have him up front over any Argie/Brazilian, bar Messi of course.

Iniesta is more highly regarded at Barcelona than Xavi.

Granted, it's incredible the vast amount of talent that comes out of Brazil.
