An early goal would settle the nerves, maybe force Slovenia to come out and leave some space. I think USA will beat Algeria, but it'll be tight. I just hope not to see Heskey on the team. It's not that he's even underperforming, just looking as useless as in the PL .
With the French out, and Germany, Spain and Italy in the same position maybe there'll be less pressure, as in they'll not feel the burden of being the big team flops of the tourno....I dunno.
Rooney looked unfit in the last game. If he still isn't match fit, I'd put on Crouch and Defoe, along with Joe Cole and Lennon etc. (and leave out Lampard who is useless), but that will never happen. Of course I hope Rooney is match fit, but like Capello would rest him even if he isn't. I wouldn't rule out Slovenia though. They could settle for a draw, but I think like South Korea's situation yesterday against Nigeria, they will come out fighting. After all if they lose the match and USA win, they will be out. Interesting times....
There's been no passion to win, to play even. They just see the World Cup as an inconvenience if you ask me. And they don't get paid for it (well the money goes to charity). Rooney hasn't looked good. See what comes out post-Cup.
Anyway here's hoping they come to form today and win the group. Let's face it we the competition hasn't been difficult so far. And let's keep our fingers crossed that Algeria play as well as they did against us today
Even now we're doing better than we do in the Eurovision. God I wish they'd let America join it so that we could come second to last place for a change. It'd just be nice not to be the most hated country in the contest. Even Mother Russia does better than us and the eastern states hate them. Personally I think the reason the eastern block hates the UK is less to do with siding with the States in the last few conflicts and more about envy and jealousy. Let's face it our current English squad earn more in a year than some of those eastern blocks have as GDP.
Anyway one hour to go until England once again kick arse.
