Bye bye Nigeria. I was really rooting for them to win, but kudo's to South Korea who only needed a draw to get through, but still pushed on even after they scored. Nigeria's defence was sloppy Iam afraid, but boy have they been unlucky!
Yukubu and that open goal LOL. Stuff of nightmares.

BUT THE VICTORY OF SOUTH-AFRICA WAS EPIC!! I'm proud of the boys
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah, Iam proud of them too. Not sure about the sending off though. Damn, the refs this year are harsh LOL.
At least I predicted Uruguay would get through. That was one hell of a group though.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm needing England to win later, it's not now simply a case of them getting through but rather winning the group and booking that last 16 tie on Saturday evening. A legitimate excuse is required to not accompany my bird to this meal/drinks do that night without any grief.
I'll take it as a personal effrontery even with a 1-0, if that allows the yanks top slot with an Algerian demolition.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
LOL, even if England win, they would have to count on USA not winning as USA would tie them but beat them on goal difference probably. In other words, England must beat Slovenia more then USA would beat Algeria (if that happens). I think thats right LOL.

An early goal would settle the nerves, maybe force Slovenia to come out and leave some space. I think USA will beat Algeria, but it'll be tight. I just hope not to see Heskey on the team. It's not that he's even underperforming, just looking as useless as in the PL .
With the French out, and Germany, Spain and Italy in the same position maybe there'll be less pressure, as in they'll not feel the burden of being the big team flops of the tourno....I dunno.

Rooney looked unfit in the last game. If he still isn't match fit, I'd put on Crouch and Defoe, along with Joe Cole and Lennon etc. (and leave out Lampard who is useless), but that will never happen. Of course I hope Rooney is match fit, but like Capello would rest him even if he isn't. I wouldn't rule out Slovenia though. They could settle for a draw, but I think like South Korea's situation yesterday against Nigeria, they will come out fighting. After all if they lose the match and USA win, they will be out. Interesting times....

R U a Spaniard???
...Spain played a good game...I'm just happy that Honduras made it to the World Cup in the first place. Although, they could've done better against Chile... By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

My history ain't good, but the name Honduras sounds Spanish? Was your country once ruled by them? Didn't they colonize it? Would of been cool if you did beat them at football LOL, like when Senegal beat France in 2002.

Yeah, Honduras is in Central America. I thought the SAME thing myself!
If I was their coach, I would've made all the players remember the legend of Lempira, the local cacique (chieftain) that the Spanish could not conquer until they offered a peace treaty and then ambushed him at the meeting.
I would've been screaming "remember Lempira!" at the top of my lungs during the entire match!!! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
