Well, hard to argue. England were poor, very poor. I don't think you have to worry about us qualifying somehow. lol

Off topic: Saramago just died. eek

Pasolini's film was from his writings too right?

The Jesus one.

I don't know what film are you talking about. Saramago has written more books about Jesus than he can (could!) count and has lots of them converted into films.

Blindness, for example, is from his writings. And, obviously, he has dozens of breath-taking books like Baltasar and Blimunda, Death with Interruptions. One of the best novelists of the last century, if not THE best. His nobel prize speaks for itself, though.

I'm gonna read his work.

Passolini's Gospel of Matthew was inspired by his books I think.

I was hoping that with Prince Harry and Prince William in attendance, they would've played better. I was so disappointed & embarrassed for them. confused

The England team is total crap, they should just pack up and go home. I really hope they beat Slovenia, but don't think it'll happen.

Sadly, it was a normal performance from the England team.

On present form Argentina and Brazil look worthy champions. The Italians usually pick up as the tourno progresses as well.

France striker Nicolas Anelka has been expelled from his country's squad and sent home from South Africa after refusing to apologise for an astonishing verbal attack on coach Raymond Domenech at half-time of Thursday's 2-0 defeat to Mexico. The player has been ordered to go home by a French Football Federation disciplinary committee which convened this afternoon and will leave the country tonight.

According to French sports newspaper L'Equipe Anelka exploded in rage in the dressing room, verbally abusing the coach. He is reported to have said, "Go fuck yourself you son of a whore."

this world cup is so unpredictable.

should be intertesting to see who gets out of the groups.

i don't know what is going on with England. it is unbelievable how badly they are playing.

hopefully they'll pull it together for their last game.

Yeah it's starting to really warm up, everyone getting to grips with the new ball, the south african culture .... The one's that want to win are playing now!

The fan support is netural hence the reason the big teams having to looking inwards for support, and the small teams feel like they are playing at home... biggrin
