Finally, a sticky cool Best teams (in order) and players: a) England (Terry, Ferdinand, A.Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney) Spain (Casillas, Puyol, Pique, Ramos, Xavi, Cesc, Iniesta, Silva, Villa, Torres) (Sincerely, the rest of the teams are no match for England or Spain...) b) Brazil (Julio Cesar, Lucio, Maicon, Alves, Kaka, L.Fabiano) Argentina (Messi cool, Mascherano, Demichelis, D.Milito, Agüero ) Holland (Mathijsen, Bouhlarouz, Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Van Bommel, Robben, Van Persie, Huntelaar) c) France (Ribery, Malouda, Toulalan, Evra, Abidal) Germany (Lahm, Mertesacker, Trochowski, Klose) the rest are not "that" good, perhaps Portugal (mainly because of C.Ronaldo, Deco, Pepe and Nani) and even Italy, a team which is full of very old geezers anyway (Pirlo, Gattuso, Buffon, etc.), and some unimpressive young players... But let's not forget Ivory Coast and its black powa!! (Toure, Kalou, Eboue, Drogba, etc. impressive, motivated & strong players...), and let's see if the USA finally do something...lol cool but obviously South Africa will get kicked... hard... in the teeth sad lol Other great players in lesser teams: Uruguay: Forlan Mexico: Marquez Cameroon: Eto'o I just can't wait!!! excited

Just thinking about their performance in last years confederations cup.

Dumped Spain out and were 2 nil up against Brazil but got beat 3 - 2.

Personally I think Spain or Argentina are good bets.

I agree that Ivory Coast will do quite well too, I also think Japan are very entertaining to watch.

But I'm Scottish so what do I know about football? wink

Are you english?

You gotta be kidding if you think England are even close to the same level as the Spanish, they have no chance of wimming the WC and the reason isn't style, it's a simple lack of talent: a suspect keeper, overreliance on Rooney and wasteful passing from midfield where Gerrard and Lampard haven't ever clicked. Then again, I would say that Spain are the only team that stands head and shoulders above England. I expect either them or Brazil will win it, maybe Holland or Italy.

Look forward to seeing Argentina play, best attacking players, most clueless but entertaining manager.

Yep. Not even close to the Spanish, Brazilians, or Germany for that matter. I generally root for USA, England, Brazil, and the Czech Republic. There are some injuries on the USA team that makes me doubt how far they will go. I believe they will make it out of the group, at least.

England have better players than Germany. Ballack's injured and Klose hardly gets a game at Bayern, I don't think they have that aura of old. I reckon Germany'll win their group, USA finish 2nd and beat Germany in the first knockout round......or else USA beat England, who finish 2nd and go on to lose on penalties to the Germans. The Ivory Coast's harsh draw should make things interesting, they were diabolical earlier this year in the African Nations.

We'll see; England has Capello, a guy that ALWAYS knows what to do, and at the right time. I vote for England, Spain, Brazil and Holland in the semifinals...Spain is amazing but I still don't know if Xavi, Cesc, Iniesta and Silva can play together; they are very similar players with almost 0% defensive value...and Xabi Alonso and Busquests are overrated...

Senna will play the DM role like he did in the Euros, Busquets is cover I think. Iniesta, if fit, will play in the middle with Xavi, with Cesc on the bench. I think the fitness of Iniesta and Torres for the knockout stages is important - Torres and Villa playing off two of the worlds greatest passers will be awesome. Ramos' occasional defensive lapses are one flaw imo, and Spain have choked at WC's before but on paper their team is scary.

I'll be supporting England, but looking at the squad I'm not optimistic. Scholes could really have done us a favour and stepped up for the tourno, and without Hargreaves I just don't think Barry and Huddlestone are good enough. What's the point of Walcott? he's speedy yeah. Can he control a ball? No. Can he do anything with it? No. Would he have made the Italian squad? No

Thankfully. I'd have had Johnson over SWP though.
