IPad Launches Internationally to LONG LINES http://www.macrumors.com/...ong-lines/
Apparently, Apples strategy to look at their scrapbook computer as a big gadget rather than a small computer is working. Well over a million already sold in the states, and I know from experience that my students all want one here in Asia, it looks like it'll be a International phenomenon. Just a few months ago critics weren't sure a tablet computer would even have a market. What will be interesting is to see how many of these customers are mac users. I would imagine many are iPhone users, but the iPhone doesn't require someone to be a mac addict--it's one of the coolest phone devices out there, and I imagine most users are probably PC users with little interest in macs. I'm wondering if this is true for iPad users too. I guess my pessimism was off the mark. Before it's release, I was trying to figure out what anyone would use it for, and if people were willing to give up portability (pocket sized portability) for more screen space without the full OS-X platform. Apparently they were in spades. Like Apples or not, the company knows how to create a success story these days. | |

it is available here (AUST) today, know a few people who got it/had it on order.

I should mention that one of the people I respect the most - Howard Stern - received an iPad as a gift and he loves it.
