I Still Haven't Forgiven My Mother

Once my mother got 2 tickets to a Prince concert at Madison Square Garden back in like the late 80's early 90's, and she went with "somene" and never even told me about her intention to go. All I know is that a few days later we met up and she gave me this Purple tamborine that she caught at the concert. I was pretty pissed off, and actually if I allow myself to dwell on it, I'll become pissed again. I've actually never had the opportunity to go to a Prince or Michael Jackson Concert. At the time the concerts were much too expensive at Madison Square Garden and if I were to have saved up for it, I still would have only been able to afford nose bleed seats. Once I saved up for such a concert by a different artist and I was literally in the very very very very last row of the stadium, I'm telling you my back was literally against the wall of the stadium. and I believe those tickets were over $50 bucks. LOL

That was years ago! Prince has had 100's of concerts since then and you spent all of that time being angry at your mom instead of saving up the money to go see him.

Ok,it appears that this thread was taken a bit too seriously. I regret that I did not have the opportunity to go to the Prince concert that she went to. Of course there were other opportunites since I actually became gainfully employed to see him however my interests were elsewhere. That was when Prince was at his "hottest", and no I'm not really angry at my mother, heck at least she bought me a tamborine that I still have around here somewhere, but sometimes I think to myself....humm...I wonder what that concert would have been like. I believe it was the Sign O the times concert.

In 1988, I was 9 years old my mom's best friend got tix to see MICHAEL JACKSONS BAD TOUR. She told me one day and I was crushed when I found out that I would not be going. I just turned 31 and I never got to see MICHAEL JACKSON perform live although I did see him once in person in 1998. My mom saw him perform twice. Once in the early 70s with the JACKSON 5 and during the BAD TOUR in 1988. Im still bummed. sad BTW, Ive seen Prince 6x. in 97, 98, 00, 01, 02, and 04.

Wow, so you dig where I'm coming from? I really lost interest in seeing Prince after the early 90's. His music just didn't do it for me anymore. No plans to see him in the future for a gig either unless he's playing at a very small an intimate venue, and I can get quick "hassle free" tickets.

I'll never forgive Prince charging me $320 for his show in Vegas.............

He's playing not far from me in July on a regular festivalground, tickets cost about $120......for that you'll get Larry Graham, Mint Condition and Jamie Lidell (barf) shoved in your throat as well.

Thank you, Prince........but no thanks!

I probably paid more than that to sit in a very average so called "diamond" seat - not very close to the stage

I only got 50 cents a week pocket money! It took me 6 months to save up just to rent it overnight from Magnum Video!

Wow for $320 bucks, I expect to bring Prince himself back to my hotel room to serenade me while I bathe in the Jacuzzi. Oh yeah Prince will need to bring me Champagne and Lobster Shiskobobs on rice pilaf with Red Velvet cake for the "after party" also. Sheesh.
