Dallas or Fort Worth, when is Lilith Fair coming up there? I'd like to go to that to see Jill Scott. I have to check the dates. Ooooh that sounds like fun! "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

Umm... ok.... how did you get such a big heart? Who was your influences growing up? that's a hard one and not to be corny but... I had a hard time being me for most of my life. I was mistreated both intentionally and unintentionally for a large part of my childhood. In spite of that or maybe because of that I can be very empathetic. I am a sensitive soul, who had one face for the adults in my life and another in private, I was that kid that did everything right and looked ok on the outside but was tormented and suicidal on the inside. Once I got to be a teenager I decided that I was going to be me no matter what the cost and it was the music of Prince that told me it was ok to do that, it was ok to be different and not quite fit in. When I said I liked Prince's music people understood EXACTLY where I was coming from. Through my adult years I found other's like me, who loved and accepted me at face value, who didn't judge me and who didn't put me in a box. Through this acceptance I learned greater acceptance and love. My influences growing up were people in my church, they showed me how to walk the walk, they were more spiritual than religious and that helped me gleen out what my beliefs were. I have a bit of the catholic in me and a bit of the baptist, it works My brother Glenn influenced be by setting a bad example He taught me that the love my parents had really had no limits, not to do hard drugs, not to drink too much and always always use protection when you have sex. I didn't do to well with that last one though Mrs, Surcey who is my sister's grandmother and my babysitter, taught me how to love and care for children. As a result of her tutalage I think i am a damn good mama and even though we aren't sister's by blood or relation we are sister in the heart and have both internalized a certain way of caring for our babies. | |
