I left FB about 10 months ago. And I don't miss it. Too many nosey ass people, and too many pseudo religious posts from non-religious folks. I swear on any given day, I would have 17 Status updates about people grateful that Jesus allowed them to put Butter on their English Muffin. Through him all is possible. Now I have a strong faith, but people protesting that God was instrumental in providing Frosted Flakes in their bowl is a bit F'n ridiculous!!!!!

And I don't need a 2hr status update on the stupid ass stuff your 1yr old did all day. My baby cried, my baby pooped, my baby spit up....NO SHIT THATS WHAT BABIES DOOOOO stfu

. Dont even get me started on those lame ass "Become a Fan" apps. Steve BECAME A FAN of Hugs. MF'er we all like hugs damnit, I just don't feel the need to click a button to show all of my 275 "Friends" that I like em!!!!!

Sorry Im done now. Facebook get's me all kinds of f'n angry

We must have different kinds of friends. I get none of that shit. I just get to contact people I like quickly and easily.

Enjoy some banter with people who are all over the world, but we get to make each other laugh every day which is a kind of magic, really.

I have a lot of family and friends abroad - I keep up with their lives.

I get to flirt with guys which is cool as I don't really do bars and clubs anymore.

What's not to like?

Actually, I only use it at work as I'm internet-free at home till after my exams. After that though, I think I might move in permanently.

I like reading all those statuses of other people too. Most of them aren't "my baby spit up" it's more like funny behavior, or funny quotes from the talking children.

Actually, I like those kinds of updates too because I like to make my typical inappropriate comments - like the time I told a friend that a pillow + her child's face = the sleep in time she was lacking.

I honestly don't see what people are freaking out over. All you have to do is control your privacy settings. It's not that hard. As far as stuff I get sick of seeing from friends (game winnings and all that crap), I just hide those types of updates.

The only think that really bugs me is I wish that it wouldn't always post what me and my friends are fans of. I belong to a few internet freebie sites that also post facebook freebies. A lot of them, you have to become fans of in order to get the free thing. I'm sure my friends think, "jeez...why is she a fan of Tide laundry detergent, or Nabisco cookies or whatever?"

Sometimes I don't like my addiction to facebook, and stop myself from checking it every time I walk past my computer, and I think of deleting it, but I just can't because of all those freebies! Oh, and the facebook updates on Lost or The Office. I've got to see those too!

the fact remains that to Facebook you are not their customer, you are their product. They gain a massive dataset of personal information that they will monetize without even blinking.

This was your basic privacy on Facebook in 2005 :

And here we are, in 2010 :

Obviously, this is with default settings and you can tweak those to a certain degree but Privacy should not be a choice, it is a right ! Services accessing your private data should be Opt-in rather than Opt-out.

I, for one, have no interest using a service that I don't trust with my information and that doesn't have a tad bit of a sense of responsibility with that data.

Why would I care?

I still don't get it. I don't get solicited by anyone...except for the odd ad that run down the side of my page...but I totally ignore it.

Besides interacting with friends and family, I've reached people I wouldn't have any other way (for my artwork and latinpopshop), so it would make no sense to leave.

and occasionally, "said friends" post a pic of you with dead hair and double shoulder pads from the 80's. Same folks post a pic of your hot Harley brother with his Alf doll when he was 12! falloff

I've thought of it, but not because of security issues. I simply never really wanted it to begin with, gave it a chance (again), and now I never log into it. So it's pointless for me to have it.

Yes. It seems like every time I log on, there's another hidden application that I have to go remove.

I do not trust Facebook at all.
