Help needed: movies & decades

Ok, I'm selecting a bunch of movies that perfectly encapsulated the feel/style of each decade (clothes, soundtrack, atrezzo, vehicles, haircuts, events, philosophy lol , etc.) If you could add a couple of movies (or more) for each decade of the 20th century (plus the 00s decade), I'd be thankful biggrin

I'll start with the 40s decade...but feel free to also add movies for the 20s and 30s please (or even for the 10s if U want to smile )

40s: The Best Years of Our Lives
50s: Rebel Without a Cause, The Wild One
60s: The Party, Goldfinger
70s: Serpico, Saturday Night Fever
80s: Scarface, Purple Rain
90s: There's Something About Mary, Beautiful Girls
00s: ? hmmm

20s - The Jazz Singer, The Sheik, Wings
30s - Top Hat, Dinner at 8, The Women, It Happened One Night, Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath ("Grapes" came out in 1940 - but that means it was shot in the 30s. And this is probably the best film ever about the Depression.)

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The list for the 90s must include Clueless. Even though it's based on Jane Austen's Emma, this interpretation is a perfect capsule of 90s "teen-ness."
