I was supposed to have been named Tricia. But someone else in my town had a daughter and named her Tricia so my parents chose a different name.

My brother was supposed to have been named Matthew, but the same thing happened. I think we both ended up with better names -- not too common, but not freakishly unusual.

I hated my name in junior high -- insisted that I be called by my middle name, which lasted about all of 3 days because I could never remember to answer when the teachers called me by my middle name.

I used to also wish my name was Karie (spelled like that).
