Whatever you do, DO NOT JUMP INTO THIS.

Do lots of research and you should probably consult with a lawyer (try to find one that needs to do some pro bono work).

Seek legal advice first but you can get the forms from
ITSA (the Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia)

my friend declared bankrupcy about 10-15 years ago. She would have had things back on track by now, but is facing a jail sentence for doing similar things to those that got her into financial trouble in the first place

its a big step to take, do your research first.

is there any financial counselling services near you? often the charities have these services.


be careful, going bankrupt shouldnt be entered into lightly, coz it hangs around a long time..even when you have been discharged.

most loan forms ask the question, have you ever been declared bankrupt...not ticking could be classed as fraud.
