My back and I are having a disagreement

Ugh....I am too young to feel this crappy without having done anything to show for it. No rock climbing adventures, no camping, no steady night of boozery.

Maybe THIS is my signal that I'm a real grownup now. lol

I feel for you! My back started being a jerk when I was in my late 20's. I can do the simplest thing too and it will start giving me crap. Once I stood at the sink with a coffee pot, filling it with water, and when I set the pot down, my back started spasming!

I end up in physical therapy a few times a year. Currently, my back has been hurting since the first of December. My new physical therapist is finally starting to help the pain stop.

Tests haven't indicated anything is wrong with me. I just have weak back muscles, particularly around my shoulder blades. I have to exercise, control my stress and know my limitations.

Good luck!

My back and I were not friends last summer (some of you may recall...) and I wound up in physical therapy... that REALLY helped... I learned stretches and yoga poses that have really become a life saver!!

I also learned that because all those muscles are intricately interconnected a little exercise goes a long way in saving you some suffering.

also, my deepest condolences... back pain sucks ass! comfort hug

No more than usual, but clearly my back is angry with me for something I've done.

I've always had a lot of stiffness in the muscles in my neck and shoulders, but today's the first time there's been any pain without some kind of obvious cause.

Can I stop being 25 now? This sort of malarky didn't happen when I was 24.

Maybe THIS is my signal that I'm a real grownup now. lol

How often do you go to the gym or do situps?

Situps actually helps with lower back pain--especially the kind you get when you wake up sore in the morning. The muscles in the stomach when strengthened support that part of your back.

I took a year long break from the gym back in 1999 and by the end of the year I ended up with lowerback pain. It went away after a month at the gym.

I haven't done either for the longest time. I keep meaning to get started again but I bear the curse of laziness. Also, I can't afford a gym membership.

I suppose I could try hitting up the local Y. hmmm
