Destiny...when something is "meant to be"

Do you believe in Destiny?

Do you believe that certain things are meant to be?

I bring this up because yesterday, I attended my son's graduation from Middle School, and wound up taking the entire day off from work. Originally I was going to only take the morning off, but it was a long, HOT ceremony (out in the open) and my mom was with us so we went to Chili's for lunch so I decided to call my boss and tell him I wasn't coming in at all.

I felt bad about it because I was out sick for 2 days last week, and I also took the morning off on Wednesday for my daughter's graduation.

THEN, as you may have heard, there was a freakish thunderstorm that rolled through the area yesterday. Connecticut confirmed that a tornado hit them. Here on the North Shore of Long Island, there were trees blown down and power outages. I was actually at my parent's place when the dark swirling clouds and distant thunder got my attention. I called the kids over to see the ominous sky and even told them that if we lived in Texas or Oklahoma, we'd be heading for the basement immediately. The hail and torrential downpout hit within minutes.

SO, I later found out from my co-workers that there was a tornado warning for the area. The storm knocked out the power for the building so the office closed early...AND...a huge tree branch fell RIGHT WHERE I USUALLY PARK MY CAR!!!!

omg

So whaddaya think? Was it my destiny to be spared from having my car smashed, or just a lucky coincidence???

Thanks! Yeah, I used to feel guilty about taking time off for family stuff (kids' graduations, award ceremonies, etc.) but I have decided that LIFE IS TOO SHORT for that. Priorities...it's all about priorities.

I believe in destiny and even in karma. I think that everything has it's own meaning.

I believe that humans have a way of rationalizing every thing......when they actually control very little of their existence.

That would take way too long to explain. I could write books about that lol.
