Omen of Death or Impending Doom????????

Ok, so at like quarter to six this morning I was coming up my steps after putting in laudry and I heard a knock at the door that scared the shit out of me. Here it was a bird fluttering against my bow window. It seriously kept doing it all morning. There is a tree next to the window and it would flutter against the window then return to the tree. It did this several times throughout the morning till around 730 ish.

So I KNEW it must mean something.

I looked it up online once I got into work and its an omen of death. That someone in your family is about to die in the next year!!!!

omfg

Does anyone know if this is true??? Or have a better explanation????

Ps. Thats gonna suck if I just signed offa' everything and my X husband dies! F!

No, I think it means that the bird was seeing his/her reflection in your window.

When I was younger and lived in Maryland, we had a male cardinal that used to do that all of the time.
He would also do that to the mirror on my dad's truck.
All of us are still alive, as far as I know.
Well, I guess the bird has since passed away.

It's just a sign that birds are stupid.

Some of them look cool, though. And several of them are delicious.

I saw a male cardinal do this just a few months ago. He saw his own reflection in my neighbor's window, and flying headlong into it, broke his neck.

Ever heard the expression "Bird Brain"? The damn bird probably saw daylight through the window and was trying to fly on about it's business. It has no comprehension of glass or the word transparent. I remember sitting in church with my school on day(many, many moons ago) and watching an egret fly through one window and loudly break it's neck zooming to a closed one. I couldn't stop laughing for an hour. And every time I remembered the sound and the sight of feathers flying, I'd laugh for another hour. Shiiiiit, I'm laughing right now just thinking about it.

You're family's safe babe.

You sound like the inside of my brain. I drive myself crazy w/ these things sometimes. If I ever voice my insanity to anyone it's my hubby and he just pats me on the head, Tells me it'll be ok and giggles at me. Like if one person dies I'm so scared I'll be one of the three (because they come in threes) and I get really paranoid. I know it's crazy but I do it anyways.
Also, I see the number 11 ALOT and if I start seeing it very frequntly on license plates, everytime I look at the clock, on my number at the deli.....I'll start freaking out thinking something bad is going to happen.
Does anyone know if this is true??? Or have a better explanation????

yes, in my mind an omen is just what you make of it. It could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it, so why add to life's difficulty by thinking doom & death is hanging over your head when birds are just stupid?

Birds fly into windows either because they can see food inside your room ( any bread on the window sill? lol), or more likely because they see reflections (like the tree by the window) which confuses them. Birds don't know about glass and that they can't fly through it onto the tree they can see in the reflection.

The best way to prevent this is to put a sticker on your window where the bird flys against it, the bird will then see the sticker and be less confused by the reflections.

Hope this helps.

Yup, these kinds of things are definitely real.

Someone in your family will die, unfortunately.

It's kinda like The Ring - which was actually based on true events.

Good luck with all that.

It was a male bird that saw its own reflection in your window and tried to establish its territory by driving off "the other bird." Nothing more than that.
