Disney Princesses Revamped & New 3D Movie

Disney Princesses Transformed Into Sexy Pin-Ups

In a series of amazing drawings posted online, comic book artist J Scott Campbell has re-imagined what Disney Princesses would look like if they'd been created for adults rather than children.

In the pictures (which you can see a selection of below), Cinderella becomes a leggy, busty blonde, Tinker Bell a basque-wearing minx and Snow White a short-skirted temptress.

Remember that scene in Wayne's World where Wayne and Garth are on the roof of the mirth-mobile, staring up at the sky discussing their favourite foxy ladies? Wayne ruins the mood somewhat with the question, "Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played girl bunny?"

Well, these drawings will set in motion similar feelings of anxiety in men of a certain age, weened on Disney films as kids and now seeing these innocent beauties transformed into wanton mistresses.

J Scott Campbell's drawings have caused controversy with some who accuse him of ruining the "good childhood memories" of Disney's originals.

Campbell, who created the Danger Girl comic book series and PlayStation game, has a long history of rebooting film characters. Among his other work are the illustrations for the Freddy vs Jason vs Ash books and giving Peter Parker's alter-ego a sexed-up makeover for Marvel's Amazing Spider-Man series.

Take a look at some of his sexy Disney princesses (and one evil queen)...

Brett Ratner to Produce New, Edgier 'Snow White'

From the moment 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' hit theaters in 1937, the Walt Disney epic has been hailed as a masterpiece of cinema, earning an unprecedented special Oscar for achievement in filmmaking and becoming an instant classic beloved by generations. But, you know, nothing's perfect. Now, Hollywood has finally found just the right man to improve upon 'Snow White': Brett Ratner.

Yes, try to contain your excitement, but according to Deadline, the 'Rush Hour' auteur has been tapped by Relativity Media to co-produce a new 3-D version of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Based on a script from writer Melisa Wallack, this new, edgier re-imagining of the legend is being given the fast track treatment thanks to the unexpected popularity of Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland' earlier this year, which just passed the $1 billion mark worldwide.

So what can viewers expect from a Brett Ratner-produced 'Snow White'? Details are still sketchy, but according to the legend himself, you can be sure that this won't have much in common with the animated classic other than the name.

"This is not your grandfather's 'Snow White,'" Ratner said. "Melisa went back to the 500-year-old folk tale and put in some of the things that were missing from Walt Disney's film. His dwarves were miners, and here they are robbers. There is also a dragon that was in the original folk tale. Walt made one of the great movies of all time, but ours is edgy and there is more comedy. The original, made for its time, was soft compared to what we're going to do."

Executive producer Ryan Kavanuagh agrees.

"This is a project we've aggressively pursued and believe in. We love Melisa Wallack's script and her fresh take on the classic story we all grew up on. This film will bring together fans of the original fairy tale and draw new audiences who enjoy adventure films."

Fans whipped into a frenzy of excitement over the prospect of a Brett Ratner 'Snow White' will have to wait at least a little bit, though; there's no word yet on when the film, tentatively titled 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,' will begin production.

While I do like some of the art (though his cover for this week's issue of Moon Knight is really bad), is this really what Hollywood's been reduced to? Seriously?

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.
