IS the GOOGLE.COM PACMAN flash?

Is the google.com pacman game flash?

For the 30th anniversary of pacman, google has decided to post the pacman game as their banner (or a variant of it)

It looks like it's not a flash app though.
Is it a java/html5 combo or is flash.

I can't tell!

It's definitely not Flash. I looked at the source code. It's html based but there's a lot of coding in it that I don't understand so I'm guessing that means it's HTML5.
Which I need to quit fooling around and really get to learning. nod

It is neat though! I haven't played Pacman in years.

I won the Pinball Intramural Championship in college. It was on the Evel Knievel machine, my favorite pinball machine ever.

Then I parlayed that into a Ms. Pac-Man championship at some bar. I think I've set the points record on every Ms. Pac-Man machine I've ever played.

Also, my elbow is fine now.

Did you injure your elbow during your misspent youth playing video games?

Interesting.

Who here is on IE7 or IE8?

Try playing the google.com pacman game.
If it's HTML5, you proably won't even see the banner due to IE's lack of support for the standard.

I'm on a mac which supports HTML5.

I'm stunned. I didn't realize that HTML5 and javascript could do that yet. I'm sure Adobe is probably sweating right about now.

Actually a great test is that if you're on an iPhone or iPad you should see the game. You may not be able to play it due to the 'touch' interface and the fact that I'm not sure HTML5 can handle that yet, but you should at least be able to see it. If it's flash you won't see the banner at all.

This is fascinating.
I couldn't find a .swf file anywhere in the source code or anything that looked like flash.
But it's been a couple of years since I've dabbled anyways.

Great fun little game though. lol

It plays on my Touch. Responsiveness of the controls is a slow as a week in the jail. And that's my excuse for shitty scores.

Maybe.

I'm actually more concerned about my hip. It hurts when I sweep the floor. I don't like it when my hip hurts.

So you can imagine what my floor looks like.

I love that version of it.

But what I was more surprised by is that the one at google.com didn't appear to be a flash application, yet was quite impressive looking.

the webpacman one is definitely a flash app so it won't run on iphones or Ipads.

Prince had hip problems. He solved them by having a rib removed. So I heard. You should give that a thought.

No. I found the direction a bit stilted and the leads unconvincing. I thought it was basically a one-joke film and the one joke was easy to spot. Cinematography won't be winning any awards but there was some promise in the lighting. Soundtrack? Hello?

Sorry. sad

hmmm. Maybe IE8 supports some html5 standards? confuse
Either that or this is a purely java app, but I doubt it is as iphones would not run it, right?

I'm obsessed with trying to figure out how they're doing it. lol

Maybe I should read the HTML source in a bit more detail. lol
