Beaches: Yay Or Nay?

Beaches get a big yay and a thumbs up from me. There's nothing better than sitting on a nice beach in the sun (making sure you put your lotion on, so you don't get burned) and just watching the waves come in on the beach, and hearing the sound that it makes. I don't mind swimming in the ocean, as long as it's not too cold, and I love walking along the beach too. If I had the money, I would love to buy a house on the beach, but that's not happening for me. lol

sits back and waits for someone to post a picture from the movie "Beaches" just to be funny. lol

faint Wow, I love watching the sun set while sitting on the beach. I've done a lot of that during my vacations in Florida, and have pictures of them somewhere.

Speaking of sun sets, I used to know a girl who moved here after growing up in Florida. She complained to me once that Ohio had crappy sunsets. I wanted to tell her, "Well, you're not in Florida anymore, and besides, Ohio is not known for wonderful sunsets anyway". lol lol

lol

Those pics were taken in Phuket. It'd be cool to live there, but at least being in Bangkok we do have plenty of beaches to choose from 1-3 hours from here.

Phuket has gorgeous sunsets. love

Me too. On family holidays as a kid I loved going to the beach in France, and the beaches were often huge too, but thinking back I remember them still being very crowded. Here in Thailand some people like to go to Pattaya but I just don't get it. The beach is a skinny strip of sand about 15 metres wide absolutely jam-packed with people. lol Same in parts of Phuket. We were lucky to find a place with a decent, clean beach, with big hotels down the coast either side, but not right where we stayed. Not too quiet either, but you could sit on the beach, look left and right 50 metres either way and there'd be maybe 15 people total, some being Thai and some foreigners. Perfect!

Oh, crowded beaches are ok with me if we're talking less sunbathing and swimming and more sitting in deckchairs eating seafood. That's a kind of beach getaway we do sometimes too, especially for day trips. smile

Only one of those fools was from NJ. hmph!
But yeah, the Jersey Shore can be "interesting". The beaches are not exactly known for the beauty. lol

Its so weird seeing the setting sun on the beach like that, where I live the sun rises on the beach and sets on the opposite side... but the full moon over the beach is always beautiful!

LOVE the beach. i think the energy from all those waves rolling in to land has to be pretty significant. it just feels good to sit there, or drink coffee, or look for shells, or feed the birds. heart the beach
