No..... pretty sure its just ANNOYING!   just say it, you are afraid people think you are a bad mother because you never write lovey dovey stuff about your kids on FB and you blame the fact that you even have those fears, on people like your friend (who is very smart to avert such suspicions with regular special sentiment status updates)

my sister is always telling me how much things cost that she has bought - I think to impress me, but it only makes me sad. I cringe sometimes, especially since other times her family is penny pinching. It might be an approval seeking thing?  My sister was diagnosed with MS recently, so she needs to constantly remind me that nothing I have is as bad. 
I had the flu, a sinus infection and bronchitis, then broke my ankle back in January (no lie! ). Her response: "Yeah, well, you don't have it as rough as I do."
