Wong Kar-Wai's "In the Mood for Love" I finally watched the film after the couple of discussions I read in here and I was simply mesmerized
The reason why I was encouraged to check it out in the first place because I loved My Blueberry Nights(W/Norah Jones,,,and his only english feature if I'm not mistaken???) but man, even Blueberry Nights paled by MILES in comparision Loved the colors, loved the sleeper vibe, loved the melancholy element, loved the forefront use of Nat King Cole's two songs, and you don't even have to sell a time piece to me(esp a 1960s era) I'll take it and be content,,,,but most of all, loved the acting I have to admit, as much as I'd like to call myself a movie buff(I lied!),,,I'm not remotely informative about Asian cinema. I'm willing to venture, and I guess this was a good start Are there any movies I should check out by Wong Kar Wai? OR Any Asian film in the same vein as In The Mood For Love? TALK!

Wong Kar-Wai's classic Chungking Express is mandatory.
You might also want to check films by Nagisa Oshima, albeit they tend to be strange. Come to think of it, the best Asian Cinema I have seen has tended toward avant-garde, quite radical filmmaking. One of my favorites is Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

Great!
I'll def gonna keep Chungking Express on the look out thanx. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but did "Mood for love" had a sequel? I distinctly remember somebody said that it had

I found this on wikipedia:
Wong's 2046 (2004), a film about capturing lost memories, was the third chapter of a shared story that began with Days of Being Wild and continued with In the Mood for Love. Infamous for long drawn out shoots without any real regards to deadlines, a running joke amongst the crew was that he would finish in the year 2046. Also, Happy Together is one of his more popular films, often discussed. I have only seen a couple of his films, and need to see more!

Absolute must-sees:
Fallen Angels Days of Being Wild 2046 And the best of them all: Happy Together Wong Kar-Wai is my all-time favourite director....even more so than Hitchcock! "...and If all of this Love Talk ends with Prince getting married to someone other than me, all I would like to do is give Prince a life size Purple Fabric Cloud Guitar that I made from a vintage bedspread that I used as a Christmas Tree Skirt." My favourite director and my absolute number one film
I never tire of watching that film. And the sountrack is fabulous (same guy who did A Single Man recently and 2046 the sequel to ITMFL). 2046 is also wonderful. Happy Together is beautiful Chungking Express is brilliant. I haven't seen his English language film yet, but I can't wait for his next film. It's been a while now.
