You raise very good points....especially about the "what happens afterward".

My goal is to get my tummy, waist, legs and arms in tone. I'm in good "shape" generally speaking...eating is not a problem, necessarily, my weight is good for my frame. Just need to tighten the muscles up.

My issue is that I run. Once I get started (3-4) times its a breeze and I love it. The hard part is getting started.

Its just something that says...do it tomorrow and then tomorrw never comes. neutral

You're probably not the people I'm talking about, then.

You sound like you're already at a decent level of fitness, you just need to get motivated to re-start something that already works for you.

hug

I know how hard the "getting started" can be - no matter what I'm getting started on! I always say about every work day, "getting out of bed is the hardest part."

I'm the person you're talking about!!

lol Yeah, he was real scary-lookin' in "Kickboxer." You most likely know this, but he was also in "Bloodsport," and "Lionheart," and was dancing next to Van Damme during that LA beach scene in "Breakin." lol

And that muscular dude who played the villian (Fender) in "Cyborg" was extremely frightening. He was bigger and scarier than Tong Po to me, LOL:

That guy (Fender) had unusually flat pecs to be such a swollen bodybuilder, but still had great-lookin' muscles nonetheless. lol

I had a problem getting back into my workout regime after a neck injury sidelined me for 4 months. But, I'm 2 months back into it now. I just had to tell myself to get off my backside and DO IT. No excuses, no matter how much it sucks. Think of the body you want. Once I did this 3 or 4 times, it got a lot easier getting back in the swing of things.

Thanks, I'm trying but I keep coming up with excuses; however tomorrow is D-day. Exactly one month away.

Wish me luck and thanks for the support.

It gets harder! I started running again, and found it harder to get used to the mileage, and harder to tighten up my body, and now my achilles heel hurts sad

Ouch, I know at least once I've gotten shin splints. Reminds me, I'll need to research how to avoid them.

Do you stretch before you run?

Once you get in the routine of working out regularly (3 times a week for me) it's very hard to get out of shape, to be honest.

I hardly ever struggle with my weight, and if I do it's that I need to gain some because I loose weight pretty quickly.

Eating healthy helps, don't do diets, they are useless.

Oh God I am way too lazy to do anything boxed. And the older I get the less likely it will be that that ever changes redface. My bf offered me that he would help me what to do, but I guess I would have to work out for months before I would see the slightest change. And I just hate any kind of sports or work-out boxed.

Like others and I have stated, the hardest part is getting started, but once you've done it 3-4 times consecutively, its all good.

Good luck (and start small).

Well, I didn't have fat to lose and neither does Martina. Maybe it's different if you have to work off flab first, but I could see and feel increased firmness in my arms and stomach pretty soon after beginning the workouts.

If it makes you feel any better, I started the workout program on the advice of a stupid rheumatologist who insisted it would make my joints feel better. Instead, it made them worse and caused some permanent damage. biggrin

Curious, did he recommend stretching first? There seems to be differing opinions about the value of stretching prior to excercise?

Thank you hug But I think for me the harder part would be to not quit. I am one of those people who don't enjoy sports at all, never have and never and I don't feel good while I do it or afterwards sigh. So it's damn hard to have any motivation to do something you just hate doing 3 times a week.
