Getting Raven Simone On SNL!

Saturday Night Live has NO african american female talent on it's show for some time now, and I think Raven Simone would be a perfect addition to the cast. Anyone who can turn the hackneyed scripts of "That's So Raven" into comic gold is a comic genius.

Internet groundswell worked for Betty White. How do I spark interest in making Simone a new cast member?

Not a bad idea. I like Raven. She's got a good head on her
shoulders, clean cut, and carries herself like a young lady should.
I'll admit i found her sitcom pretty funny. boxed

As a guest host or cast member? Does she want to be a cast member?

It would work I guess...When they need a black woman they just put that Keenan & Kel guy in a dress eek

Comic gold?!? Really??? Calling Raven Simone a comic genius is like calling William Hung an opera singer. biggrin

She does have really good comedic timing and does pretty decent impersonations. It would be great if she could join the cast but their writing is so God-awful... sad

I couldn't stand Raven Symone for years, and the snob in me would love to say her current work is forgettable drivel for suburban kids. But I've seen her show, and girl actually is a pretty talented comedic actress.

SNL would be seedier than any of Raven's work to this point, so it may or may not be a good fit. But it would be an interesting move.

I don't see it happening, though. Girl is work like $400 trillion and counting as it is lol ...and SNL is a bit hit or miss with regard to propelling the careers of its female comedians. She doesn't need them.

Really? When's the last time you watched the show? I think the current crop of writers has come up with some hilarious stuff. Some totally boring stuff too, but that's the nature of the beast when you've got a 1-1/2 hour sketch show. There's gonna be some filler.

I want Donald Glover on SNL so badly that I can taste it. He is a megastar waiting to happen!! He currently stars on NBC's Community and also writes for NBC's 30 Rock.

liSTEN, I used to be forced to watch That's So Raven because I have, like, daughters or whatever.

As fucking annoying and terrible as the show was, I have to say that Raven was pretty damn funny. She does have good timing and delivery, even with shit writing.

I think even their somewhat funny skits are a bit lacking. I thought the one with Tina Fey hosted was pretty good. I actually laughed throughout but usually I find it painful save for one or two skits that make me chuckle at best. The news segment is always clever but aside from that it's hit or miss. I do think the show has cycles... seasons with a strong cast and great writing and then some weaker years but I haven't found it truly laugh-out-loud funny since the days of Tina, Maya, Cheri Oteri, Tracy Morgan, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon. Now I just check in to see who's hosting or the musical guest.

Not Raven Simone. She's cool, but....no. I disagree.

Robert Townsend's daughter (I forget her name) would be a much better selection. She used to have her own show on YouTube, and she's hilarious. Raven Simone is just an actress that got stuck with a silly sitcom. Like Will Smith, Raven is not an actual comedian. lol

I hope Robert Townsend's daughter pursues a comedy/acting career.

Do you have to be a comic or have comic aspirations to be on SNL? Weren't there a few cast members who were comedic actors? Raven is quite funny off the show as well. It would be a big step for her and the show but will more than likely never happen. However, it would possibly be nice to see her in an adult project.

Those shits are the most annoying things ever.

I cannot stand any of the live-action shows for kids.

It's still SpongeBob and Fairly OddParents for me.
