I do not feel sorry for Conan O'Brian.

Ok, the guy got 32 million to go away, he will have a new cable show on TBS, was on tour, made bunches of money. He has a lovely wife, child--he's a privilged white male. He has no reason to bitch at all.

The guy should suck it up and quit being such a whiney little bitchboy.

Totally agree.

I like that he is self-deprecating. But dude, when that's what your entire act has been for 10/15 years, it stopped being funny/charming after about 5 minutes.

I don't feel sorry for him exactly, but he did kind of get screwed. But that's show biz. He did get his chance. Leno won that battle, and TV is far worse for it!

Even he said on his last show to not feel sorry for him, that he was incredibly lucky to have ever gotten the chance to do what he did.

He's not bitching. No amount of money is worth staying in a toxic place where people don't want you. He's human, and he's telling what he felt. He has every right to feel that, and to act on it, or react to it. Conan has NEVER been out for sympathy or pity from the public, nor has he ever been cynical about it.

So you don't feel sorry for Conan? Neither does he.

He made me laugh once back when Princess Diana was living. It was a joke about Prince Charles' ears

CONAN: Jay took my show away!!! fit

REALITY: The whole debacle never would've happened if Conan hadn't forced Leno out of The Tonight Show in the first place.

CONAN: I had a poor lead-in and that evil Jay Leno stole my show out from under me before I had a chance to build an audience!!! fit

REALITY: Conan will never play in Peoria. His Tonight Show was a fiasco and even if Leno had passed (and why in hell would he? lol), NBC still would've yanked 'im.

IMHO, Conan's show is way funnier than Jay's (although I find Coco himself grating). But you know what's even funnier? Conan painting himself as the victim (and he is doing that).

to me, NBC are the ones who fucked up. They were the ones who forced Jay out (maybe putting Conan on at 11:30 was a mistake to begin with), and the ones who took half of the Tonight Show audience away from Conan by giving Jay a 10:00 slot. And it was they who decided to put the less funny guy back at 11:30 as well as mess up the 12:30 slot. They looked completely like waffling idiots, who couldn't make any sort of firm commitment.

I think Conan (and Jay for that matter) understandably expressed some bitterness toward NBC but I think he took the high road. He didnt' mess with Jimmy Fallon's slot as he could have and he thanked NBC on his last show for all they did for him, and really seemed sincere about it.

What's really interesting is that Coco and NBC honcho Jeff Zucker were classmates at Harvard. When Conan told Steve Kroft on 60 minutes that Zucker has not called Conan to say ANYTHING to him, it just pointed out what a dick an old buddy can turn out to be. Shame on NBC.

Jay: I trust in you, and I think you're good for the job. Take it, it's yours.

Conan: Thank you. I'll take it.

Reality: Just under six months pass.

NBC: Quick, get Chin back in there! Tell everyone we're losing money on the show.

Jay: I'm taking the show back.

Conan: Bye bitches!

Conan literally said "That's impossible" four times when he was asked about the Tonight Show losing money during his run.

Some people are just media hogs. These guys are multi-millionaires. Yet, they want to stay on TV and make more millions? Sit your old, rich assess down and give somebody else a frickin' chance!
