I have been buying the same tampons for years. Years! And every time I deviate for whatever reason I'm always disappointed and am reminded never to do it again.

As of yesterday, I bought a new brand all because I liked the box and the colors.



I think their ad campaign is utterly cheesy, trying to be all "edgy" or something. It's a tampon. My gawd.

But I still can't help but love the box and fun colors. I'm totally a sucker for fun design. I even enjoy how cute they look in my purse and the material the wrapper is made out of.


What have you bought lately simply cause you like how it looks?

i saw those at target the other day, i almost bought them too.

hmm...the last thing i bought because of the way it looked was shower gel (i didn't need) just because the bottle is cute.

Talk about being stuck up....

I actually bought pretty glass bottles for my bathroom to transfer shampoo into so I'd stop doing that.

But yeah. Me too.

And, you know, there's nothing wrong with wanting every little thing in your life to be well-designed and delightful.

Random aside:

Speaking of tampons, I had my nephew yesterday, and he found a tampon in my glove compartment and goes, "what's this?". I wanted to explain it in a concise, matter-of-fact way that made it not a big deal, but have you ever tried to explain menstruation to a 7-year-old boy? Where to begin?!

I bought plastic and glass bottles too to transfer shampoo and douche gels and things like that. I also bought a matching fish "cover" for my dental floss. But I didn't use them yet as my bath room is still a mess and need renovating first .

Mine didn't come with that. I actually DO keep a wallet in my purse to keep them in (it's black with white polka dots and a pink bow) but now I feel like they're cute enough to just hang out loose. I think that's part of the marketing campaign. Brilliant.

me too. i end up buying awful crap because i like the packaging.

i have bought three bottles of john-paul gaultier's cologne for men. i always end up hating the cologne, but the bottle gets me every time.

I learned a lesson years ago, when these sales reps have a new perfume they want you to try, don't! A lady sprayed us with some nasty smelling perfume once, it made me and my mother sick, we had go back home and take showers.

Yup! I'm like TD3 in that I'm a sucker for cologne packaging and have gotten stuck with some nasty smelling junk because I liked the package. If I can't sniff a sample, I have learned my lesson.

As far as those new tampons go, if I still had a use for them I would probably buy them just for the little purse!
