I'm planning to move in an 2-bedroom apartment with a good friend of mine this summer.. it's the first time i'm gonna live with a housemate, for financial, practical reasons (and avoiding loneliness too ) and though I'm really excited and happy to move in with one of my best friends (we have a lot in common: same musical, literature tastes, and hobbies, I've been living alone since I've left the parents 4 years ago ... and many people especially relatives) think its a bad choice, that it may ruin our friendship, that having a housemate @ 25 its a little 'immature' (via my aunt)...

So i wanna know, from ur experience, is housesharing a good thing or not? Need some advice too, 'to keep things cool' (rules, agreements...)... And when is "being too old to have a housemate", in ur opinion?

in the begining it can be fun, i had a good time living with my best friend about 8 years ago, but in the end it ruined our friendship because she started to get jealous. i miss her to this day.

I've lived with 12 different housemates, some great some not so great. Some funny stories and some major dramas

Stay on top of THE MONEY like you're a CPA... any issues I ever had with housemates inevitably could be traced back to missing dough i.e. "Oops I drank my $$$ away and can't make rent" or "I'mma get paid tomorrow, I swear..."

I did the room mate thing right out of college. I shared a house with 2 other friends. It wasn't too bad, but I was responsible for us splitting up after the landlord came in and killed my puppy while we were all either at work or in class. After that, I've always lived alone except for the one time I let my boyfriend move in with me. BAD IDEA! Now, I would never have a room mate...too settled in my ways.
