This was actually a child's desk, for about age 10 or so. Not small, not big. I got it in 1998 when I moved here. I eventually cut off the "desk" part and left just the drawer section, which stands on its own, to use as night stand. I had foolishly painted it a green varnish in 1999 or so. I later tried to decoupage some angel wrapping paper on it. I decided when I painted my bedroom in this new place, that I wanted to at least try to refinish it. It's just MDF underneath or something, but I can at least paint it from scratch, change out the hardware, and get some more life out of it. I'm going for Grecian Chic in my room - this being in inspiration (I even researched the paint color and had it matched at Home Depot). I also painted an ugly black lamp someone gave me, and put a white finish on it with a brand new shade.

I wonder if anyone will recognize the room.

Is this your boudoir? batting eyes

I just refinished a huge old mirror ive had for years... Painted it gold, then dry brushed it black... Normally Id go the other way around but I had already painted the mirror gold a few years back...

And we may goto an auction this weekend so I may find some new projects! excited

As I noted, it's my inspiration for my own bedroom. But mine is starting to look a lot like this.

We have a couple of end tables, and I have a buffet I want to tackle next. Both have the original varnish from 70 years ago on them.

I actually came up with the name Grecian Chic.

I wish I knew where the curtains were from! They're gorgeous! My bedroom is on the 3rd level of our home, so I wanted my curtains to be minimal anyway. I might just find some really nice sheers and put those up (or make my own).

I might make my own duvet cover too.

I have used just plain white sheers and I love the look! Clean but still classy I think...

I did not have a nice day, but at last the stupid but cheap long distance phone connection worked and I could reach my bf and we talked for 20 minutes, so that made my day biggrin.
