http://poponthepop.com/20...hday-cake/ Soul Queen Aretha Franklin turned 67 years young and celebrated the occasion at Seldom Blues in Detroit on Friday. She had a cake shaped like her fierce inauguration hat because she can. She also wore a frock that resembles a bird because she can. Most importantly, she covered up her anchor titties and she looks excited. Congrats.

Her voice is still amazing.

Yes, it is.
Also, according to freddyo.com, "Franklin gave each of her guests miniature replicas of the hat cake."

UGH, I wish Truck Nutz would just get banished to another Universe!
I think the cake is hilarious and cute! I mean, Aretha had to know how funny that hat was, and she must have had friends 'kid' her about it. So, it makes a very funny birthday cake IMO. I have a sinking feeling one of my future birthday cakes will be an emoticon...I have some ideas which one.

Or a purple and gold vikings cake, or even a blue skies/chemtrails cake? I doubt he'd be cool with that.

I'll joke about Aretha but her strength, longevity in the business, her outstanding voice even now, and her undisputable legacy of music are no joke! I salute the Queen hats and all...and I'll take my hat off to her any day!

I love Aretha. Lord knows I do but why wont she give up the spaghetti straps? I wonder how much of that incredible cake she ate.

And I am really glad she covered up Mount Respect and Mount Natural Woman for the occasion.

I love it! Kudos to the cakemaker... it really looks like a felt hat. Aretha likes a warm room (80+ degrees) so now I know why she likes to sport the spaghetti straps.

You'd think with hootahs like that, she wouldn't need any extra warmth!
