And I'm one of those folks who finds watching movies at home a bit depressing--so even when I get in the position to own a home over here with a pimpass t.v. I don't think I'll ever not go the cinemas.

But yeah--it's all over the place here already.

I just saw Iron Man 2 today, and while it was quite entertaining and definitely worth seeing just for the popcorn fun effect, it wasn't quite as good as the first movie. Nevertheless, it had some genuinely funny moments, and Robert Downey Jr. once again made the movie. He made an otherwise by-the-book action movie truly magical the first time out, and he kept this movie from turning into a bloated crap fest like Transformers 2. Mickey Rourke was okay, but he wasn't given much to do in this movie. His character could have been a more menacing villain if they had developed him more.

But it looks as though they're already setting up the Marvel spinoffs. They mentioned the Avengers midway through the movie and had Samuel L. Jackson in a cameo role playing Nick Fury, and in one scene Tony Stark needs to prop up one of his scientific gadgets, and he asks someone to bring him an artifact that looks like Captain America's shield. And if you stay through the end of the credits, they show something landing in the middle of the desert that also seems to reference either Captain America or Thor.

Excuse you all, but I also enjoy the Iron Man VS. War Machine scene, even if poor Tony was drunk the whole time.

That's a bit of a spoiler for me to know he gets drunk in this one. I wonder how far they'll get into the Demon in a Bottle storyline.

So um...Terence got fired because he wanted too much money? What the hell are they paying Cheadle? ARen't both of these guys Oscar nominees? I know Terence got top billing in the first Iron Man but unless he was asking for some outrageous fortune, there was no good reason not to bring him back.
like Don, don't get me wrong but the on screen chemistry between Downey and Howard was much stronger IMO - I believed they could be real friends. Also, Terence is better looking. Ok I think I figured this out. It's about looks. Terence's good looks were somehow threatening.

Terence asked for money upfront BEFORE being cast in the first Iron Man film. So right after that film became a success, the producers knew that they needed a bigger budget for the sequel. Robert was going to be pay THE most money of all of the cast members, without question because he is the title character. But the producers didn't want to be bother with having to pay Terence more money upfront like the first time. So they (in a controversial move at the time) option not to have him back and just hired Don instead for an affordable price.

What I wasn't sure about was why Vanko alternated between an orator in the beginning and barely speakin a full English sentence for the rest of the movie.

I think there was really no good reason to have Scarlet Johannsen in the movie. Sure, they needed to introduce the character but she did nothing interesting and added nothing to the plot. If folk want eye candy, can't they just buy whatever latest men's magazine Scarlet's posing in?
