Anyone here have a radiant barrier in their attic?

Down here in Texas, commercials for radiant barriers are on all the time. I think a radiant barrier is some kind of paint applied to the inside of your attic roof, and it's supposed to "keep out 80% of the sun's radiant heat!" This, in turn, keeps your attic cooler which theoretically means your house stays cooler. Your A/C works less, so you allegedly save huge jack on your energy bill.

Anyone here have this stuff? Does it work? Was it worth the money?

Thanks.

My ex had it in his house. I never really thought about it if it worked or not.
But it was always cold during summer....I would turn the AC off and he never noticed when I did.

No, I didn't say "rodent" I said "radiant".

razz

BTW, no one has a nicer attic than me. Fortunately we have no rodents but if we did, they'd be in rodent heaven up there. But then they'd end up in real Rodent Heaven.
