life is a stage

one way to look at life is if it were a stage. we all have our "on stage" characters to play and our "off stage" characters to play. How would YOU characterize the roles that YOU play in your LIFE??

i would characterize my "on stage" role as a maid...i am a caretaker, mediator...and yet i quietly observe...my "off stage" role i would characterize as uniquely ME..a role that i am still learning to play but that i identify with and only a few would ever understand completely...both roles i am happy with and also satisfied with...

Mine would be a trifle bit boring and dramatic at the same time.

Rasbabey, this is a good thread -- but kinda hard 4 me 2 figure out & say something in regards 2 myself:

actually I'm working on bringing myself all together so to speak, so that my "on stage" and "off stage" self is all together. there are many roles i believe that people play - both "on stage" and "off" - kinda depends on who i'm with, where I am, etc. I normally work in an office atmosphere so there's a very "professional" demeanor that I take on. I generally like to be in a supportive role, whether "on" or "off" stage but only in the "off" stage do i "get loose" -- loud -- silly -- fun, etc. All 4 now - honestly I gotta think about this one some more.

music headbang music headbang

pray

all come 2gether as 1 -- this not only means ppl coming 2gether but oneself coming 2gether w/themselves -- accepting all parts of themselves like Prince teaches us through song, his lyrics, poetry, music, etc.

Therapy

There are many sub-personalities and once they are in communication with each other and learn to accept each other, then acceptance and inner peace can be experienced. IMO.

Yes, we all have a personna we show to the public, and the one that is truly ourselves when we are alone or with ppl we r most trusting of. different masks so 2 speak (like comedy and sadness). this is mainly so bcuz of HOW we think ppl percieve us. so we act like they want us to, not realizing that being ourselves could bring us much more happiness in life and ppl more suited 2 us. in other words, "why pretend?" we all do tho. the mask one mainly wears 4 others is to "impress". once we get more familiar with a person we let down our "guards" to let the true "light" shine. i guess thats why they say one should get to know someone WELL bfore making a commitment 2 them. makes sense. no one can keep up a facade 4ever. thats why mostly its very interesting & fun 2 get to know someone of our choosing, as they're layers peel off and they reveal their true selves. this process enables us to truly be able 2 enjoy that person, and love them as well, if love takes place. becoming at ease with ppl we like is the ultimate goal. showing them our "true selves" is the ultimate gift.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

I am me all the time,
take it or leave it.
I always TRY to make the other person feel ok
but sometimes i'm doing this rolleyes on the inside
and this smile on the outside...
Once I would have thought that hypocritical, but that was
before I learned that some people are hurt badly by
other's diapproval (some already having poor self-worth).
Now I just keep my opinions to myself...because that is all
they are...MY OPINIONS.
I used to tell people just like it was...but that was
before I learned that I don't know everything.
Now I understand that I only have a little of the space in
this place for a limited time.
So while I am here, I don't want to make anyone else's
space or time cramped or bitter...
So I would characterize my roles as...caregiver; listener;
counselor; mother; sister; friend...oh, and lover.
So...how's everybody doing? smile

Oh, I forgot...
In the physical realm, I am somewhat superficial...maybe.
I never leave out the door without full costume...
By that I mean...dressed to the nines.
I even have a room in my house that is my literal "dressing room", disbelief
where you will find everything a girl needs to be ready
for the "stage" of life.

We all have our "isms". neutral smile
So...how's everybody doing? smile
