Do U Finish What You Start? I seldom finish anything that I start. This includes my threads. I'll pay attention for the first page or two then just ignore it for a long time.
This is something I started 10 years ago but never finished (the strip on the right with the 'imago' logo doesn't really exist--it's a photoshop job). I've decided I'm going to finish it when I get back to the states and retrieve a few more belongings. ![]()

this sounds arrogant but..
I start the most fantastic stories, have everything planned, write the first 2 chapters then stop. When I go back I can't believe that ive written something so good but I just can't be bothered to go over old ground by picking it up again. I'm trying to force myself to dotot at the mo because I started an ace idea and I know if I pick it up again it could be special apart from that I'm a stickler for finishing things in every sense [Edited 4/30/10 3:47am]

Not really....I am hoping the first thing I will finish will be school. 16 classes left, so it's looking hopeful. Proud Memaw to Seyhan Olivia Christine ,Zoey Cirilo Jaylee & Ellie Abigail Lillian

I'm REALLY good at starting things and only so-so at finishing. I always lose interest part-way through. It's usually cause I'm on to something new. |

two examples of something i did. the moleskine notebook drawings/paintings/ collages/pencil sketches are usually a work in progress that i will return to whenever i feel like it and add something or take something away. they are basically never finished. canvas paintings however, i always finish in one sitting. usually over a two day period. my 'problem' is tho, that i finish them but never like the outcome and always end up destroying them after i hang them on the wall to take a few picture. i finished 3 large paintings this week and destroyed two, without even the usual picture taken. before i managed to convince myself to destroy the 3rd i just took it to a frame shop and bought a $120 dollar frame for it which they will put around it and i can pick it up next friday. so perhaps that's gonna keep me from destroying that one too. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Most of the time.
It's just that I'm involved in "works in progress." It's just that some of the things I start... there's no end... I like them so much, I just keep plugging away at it even though I might take a break for a few days, weeks, months or even years! I always go back though.. if they're worth going back to.. Then there are other things I've started, but dropped because.. they didn't turn-out like I thought. I just think at one point, I have to know when to cut my losses--particularly if I get more stress than joy out of the situation. If it's something I really like though, then I figure out a way, to modify my original goals if my initial goals are disappointing..

I have a very hard time ommitting colors from my paintings. If you take out one of the primary colors, it 'cools' your painting or even gives it an eeri feel. It's something I really love and try to do, but I end up 'balancing' out the paintings. This was supposed to be a nearly monochromatic painting with everything in the blue range ![]()
