3D glasses don't work on me :(

I've been to see 3D Alice in Wonderland, Clash of the Titans & Avatar... yesterday I went 2 see a 4D film at legoland. The movies never look 3d 2 me and when everyone is oooing and ahhing around me I have 2 fake my ooo's and ahh's just 2 fit it, yesterday i even oooh'ed when I shoulda ahhh'ed...most embaraasing sad

Am i a mutant? do i just have f'ed up eyesight or am i wearing the glasses wrong, should i be staring at a certain place on the screen? what's the deal or is this just like the story of the emperor's new clothes and no one can really see anything but just want to fit in2 the crowd? neutral

I'm wondering if this whole 3d thing is a con just 2 extract more money out of consumers, build upa hype then sell people medicre crap that makes promises it can't keep. I pay extra for HD tv in my cable package... HD on the whole sucks too neutral

I saw Avatar in 3d and it was pretty good. I didn't 'ooh' or 'aah' but then neither did anyone else.

I am reliably informed however, that you need to be in an IMAX cinema to get the full effect. Perhaps, there I would 'ooh'

I'm not a fan of the 3D thing personally....

I saw Avatar, Up, and How to Train Your Dragon in 3D... In general I pick up the 3D just fine and I don't get headaches; however, when the camera work moves fast I feel like my eyes don't have time to focus on what's going on and things become fuzzy. I find the novelty tends to distract from the experience of the film, and you miss the little details.

For future movies I plan to opt for the traditional 2D presentation; hopefully this 3D stuff will die down soon. Everyone acting as if Avatar was the first film to ever broadcast in modern 3D. The first live-action maybe, but CG and Claymation were both well ahead.

I imagine they'd be great for gaming smile

I found 3D only really works if the cinema has a big screen and you sit in the middle, fairly close to the front. You should try to sit in a place where if you focus on the centre of the picture you can not see the edges of the screen.

I think it's good for certain types of film, but you end up being more interested in the cinematography then the characters and plot. I don't mind that happening with action movies that don't offer much on those things anyway, but for decent films it just serves as a distraction.

Do you see real life in 3D? Do you perceive depth normally? These movies are just imitating what most people see with there own yes everyday. Depth to an image because you have two eyes that see slightly different angles.

That's because the Snuggie creates greater depth in his image. nod

Don't worry, you're not missing much. The 3 big 3D movies (Avatar, Alice and Clash) aren't really fine works of cinema to begin with. Well, avatar is probably the best of the three, even though it's story is generic, at least it had a very cool art direction to it.

Also, you guys heard about Nintendo's next gaming handheld? The 3DS? It's suppose to do portable 3D without glasses.
I still play pokemon. I play warcraft. And I'm awesome.

There are a lot of disorders that can effect depth perception (and the effectiveness of 3D glasses) such as having a lazy eye or anything which causes your eyes to be out of line with one another etc.
