All-Girl/All-Boy Schools What do you think? Do (straight) boys and girls learn better away from the distraction of the opposite gender? Do boys and girls behave differently in the classroom when they know a boy or girl is watching? Or does being together in the classroom help them with their socialization skills with the opposite gender, and rob them of a full learning environment? Would they be missing out on learning about the different ways the other thinks/expresses him/herself?

I start a blasphemous thread about Mary being a dyke and get all kinds of responses and Orgnotes, but this one sank like a big ole heavy stone! Guess this one really doesn't strike anyone's fancy at this late hour--maybe it's more of a "daytime" thread?
My opinion on this topic: I dunno. I see it from both sides. Ultimately, if I had a son or daughter, I think I'd put them in a all-girl or all-boy setting, but make sure to integrate them WELL with the opposite gender in social settings outside of school...
