Have you ever gone gold panning,or metal detecting? I have been gold panning once,and did'nt really do well,I also went gem mining a couple of years ago,it was brought on after watching the show on the Travel Channel "Treasure Hunters". They showed them mining for Sun Stones,and how much money they were worth,they made it look so easy,I just was sure I was going to go find some,and get rich!

So have you ever gone treasure hunting?
Did you find anything really interesting?

I gave up because I couldnt grow a proper gold miners beard

My brother does that. He often goes to building sites and goes at it. He found a LOT of coins. Some were even worth something.

Oh I did do it a few times. But never seriously. Once I was spending time with a guy that had cancer we would go out and do that. It was the one thing he really liked doing but he could no longer do it alone. He had some high tech metal detector that would show a picture of what it was. We found nothing of value.

And I had walked with some kids that had some really cheap ones. We found a dollar or so in change.

I never have, but a good friend of mine has done metal detecting. She found some stuff that was kind of cool.

Don't think I would ever try it myself, but I do like to pick up pennies/dimes/nickles and the occasional quarter up off the ground when I find it. I found a dollar bill laying on the ground just the other day.
