Isn't kissing as a non-smoker's better than kissing when you smoked?
Why not share the experience to inspire orgers who are still smoking?

Yeah, that's no different other than I'm not worried about smoker's breath. Which is nice, but I naively thought once I quit smoking I'd never have bad breath again. I was sooooo pissed when I discovered that just wasn't true. lol

However, he smokes. But is in the process of quitting. He's been wearing the patch.

Once I quit I said I'd never date a smoker. But we talked about his wanting to quit the night we met, before we even flirted and such, so I know it's something he wants to do and isn't just trying to impress me or whatever. And I know how hard it is. So I can be forgiving while he's going through it.

a serious question here....

it's very early in this dating relationship, but say he doesn't quit. Say he enjoys it and decides he'll try again in the future. Is that a deal breaker?

I really don't know. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I suppose. On the one hand I can't imagine getting serious with someone who smokes, but on the other if everything else is great, I can't imagine dumping him over one flaw, especially one I had to overcome myself.

Saturday will only be 2 weeks we've been hanging out. I've got some time to figure it out.

that's an awesome view. Erin HATED cigs. I smoked tons of cloves, and the occasional pack of Camels. However, it was never an issue with us. She wanted me to quit, but never ever nagged me about it. I quit for a few months and then went back, and she offered nothing but positive support. It was great. I finally just up and quit one day and we're both happy for it.

Yeah, I guess I just understand, ya know? I think being that I've been through it, I know it's not something that can just change overnight. And the fact that he wants to already and has shown that (we talked about his last quit attempt when we met) rocks.

I was thinking/wondering if he was a vegetarian. (Is that weird I was thinking about it?) Just because I'm a vegetarian and I honestly don't know if I could date a hard-core carnivore. Not because of the ethical reasons, but because I find meat disgusting and wouldn't want to cook it or have it smelling up my apartment.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

lol

Yeah, I'm not about to start cooking meat. But if we're eating out I don't care what he eats. I'm just glad he's been one so we cna share meals together without him thinking I eat like a crazy person.

However he HAS mentioned to me more than once he's considering going back to being veggie, although being so early on who knows if he really and truly wants to or if it's more in an effort to "impress" me. lol.

So, as long as this thread is in existence...

I'm thinking of making a sweet green curry with seitan, asparagus, carrot, red pepper and onion. He's not currently a veggie, but was one for 6-7 years, so I know he's down with the mock duck (otherwise I wouldn't serve it to a carnivore right away lol).

And I think I'll just cut up a mango and serve it w/a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Does that sound OK?

well, don't forget kimchi. the true test of a man is how much kimchi he can consume nod
